WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

It does seem odd. They had a decent enough season, 12-6 in league play and finished about where coaches poll predicted them to. Their #8 seed had to be a disappointment though. Wondering how much the weakening league is going to play into portal in and outs and future HS recruiting.
This might sound simple but the allure of a big money payday has to be a big motivator does it not. Maybe Okie St has limited NIL for Women's Bball.

Without Pickens they are in the same boat as us. They have to find Rev share/NIL for FB, MBB, WBB, Wrestling, and Baseball. So one more sport to siphon away.

They are losing some good players and a few starters but not great players who will get big NIL money. Their only 1st through 3rd team All-Big 12 is Heard and I heard she is staying. They could very well get more NIL but not any big payday. The gals like Olivia Miles might have gotten a lot of money but the tiers below are not getting the coin everyone seems to automatically think they are.

Well her last 6 games she averaged 28 points per game with a 41 and 37 point games. And she averaged 37 points in those games. Our defense was porous but her scoring was high level.
Repeating again, my words are not a reflection on Audi. But, honestly, she SHOULD score big every game with that many passes and LAYUPS. The truth of the matter is that Addy is a better ALL AROUND player and she needs to be somewhere that is going to utilize her talent for an investment in her future...... that just wasn't Iowa State.

Those are expected stats when the offense is designed around you. 3-22 isn't good, but the rest of the team doesn't have plays designed for and practiced for them. Please know, I am not putting Audi down at all, I'm just saying Addy and Jada deserve and have earned more, I believe they will and should go find it.
The rest of the team have lots of plays designed to free them up to shoot. The number of shots alone indicate that. But if you can make any it becomes infinitely easier to guard Crooks. The formula for success this was ALWAYS dependent upon the success of the guards.

Surround Audi with 4 good scoring guards and Audi's scoring average would go down but the teams average would increase.

Totally agree. I think the dilemma is - if Bill (and Audi) stays for 1 more year, can he recruit enough good and consistent outside threats to surround AC? Bill and family have done SOOOO much for the ISU community and players (current & former) - so I am really struggling with how I feel about what changes need to be made. Part of me thinks that if Bill could hire a well-connected assistant who has head coaching experience - like a women's BB version of Alan Huss - with the promise that s/he will take over for CBF in the 2027-28 season, that we could field a decent team next year while maintaining momentum for the future.

With who we have left and potentially bringing in, a 40 minutes from hell defense might be our only choice.

The only problem is that the staff can’t coach a defense.
Run a box and 1 with Audi under the clone offense bucket. Mass confusion

To be honest, I don't see that Bill will have a better team next season than he had this season. I just don't think it's possible given his one year status and his reluctance to dramatically change the offense and the defense. It could be a really bad year for WBB.

To be fair I think it was a coaching problem. Dont fault Ashley at all. It worked to the tune of averaging 19 & 9 over a five year career, which is great!! Just very stale for me by the end, especially with the lack of postseason success.

We’ve had an All-American on the roster for 10 years now. And we have ONE Sweet 16 to show for it.

After a decade of underachieving, that’s on the coaching staff…
