That makes more sense. 247 Sports listed him as a center, but that must just be wrong or based off some high school position.

ESPN and On3 have him has a PF. Max Preps has him as borderline PF/SF which would be ideal.

I think Milan is less likely to turn pro after last night's game. It revealed him to be essentially a stand-still shooter if he's open. He needs to work on improving his drive to the hoop and to get stronger so he can post up on occasion. He did improve his footwork on defense this year, but not sure if he'll ever attain the quickness needed to guard in the NBA. Still, there are roles for shooters in the NBA.

Plus he can make more at ISU than as a late second round pick. Would likely get a two way contract

This is something I think many people don't realize about Milan. It's not just the stay at ISU or go to the NBA.

He will be one of the biggest returning names in CBB, you could argue the biggest. ISU is going to have to double or triple what they are paying him now just to keep him.

Yes someone will back a truck up. And he's best wide open and with us losing 50% of our scoring this year people will key on him like last night every game. If he went to Duke or Uconn He wouldn't be the focus and could shoot all day. And his defense is terrible.
Next year won't be a rebuild but will really be looking to 2028 I think when the youngster guys have some time to mature, unless we get an insane transfer. We were a top 10 team all year so it is an appealing place to go for the right player

Would hate to see it but Karaban out of eligibility at UCONN leaves a perfect positional exchange with Momcilovic.

For a 6'8" guy, Milan doesn't rebound, either. He's a distance set shooter and he has that fade drop-shot from 15 feet, those are his two tricks. He's really good at both of them, but he's not an all-around player. That's why I question whether he can ever play in the NBA.

One-trick ponies don't make it to the NBA. Remember Jimmer Fredette? Amazing shooter in college but not much else to his game at all. He was a lottery pick too and completely flamed out almost immediately.

NBA either want elite play-makers or elite 3-and-D guys. Milan is missing the D. If you'd be able to combine Milan and Toure, you'd have a top 5 NBA draft pick.

If you're going to have Toure, Milan, and Buchanan on the court at the same time, the other two starters need to be very good at creating their own shot.

Quan Johnson is very good at creating his own shot.

For people concerned about getting a guy that's 5'9" not getting rebounds, our 6'8", 6'10" and 6'11" guys combined for 4 rebounds in 76 minutes last night. The rebounding problem begins with them.

Plenty of rebounds were missed by our perimeter players. Recall a few where UT outside shooters were not blocked out resulting in offensive rebounds. I truly think the strategy deployed against us forced our bigs on defense into guarding the ball (switching) or remaining on the nearest offensive player. This was after UT passed out of our double teams into the high post. Those UT players made quick decisions after getting the ball at the high post, so while our defender away from the ball was trying to rotate, the high post either dribbled attacking the basket (of this drew a defender they then passed immediately) or made a quick pass to whomever was open. Buchanan many times was left having to make a decision
of guard the ball or stay on his closest man. The indecision led to plays he looked lost. UT was prepared & they executed this part of their game plan pretty well.

That’s just a not a true statement. 3PT shooting is the one trait that can carry you to an NBA career even if you bring nothing else. Not going to be a star, but can have long NBA careers. Korver, Redick, Kennard, etc. are examples.

Fredette is a terrible example by the way. He took a TON of shots, played with the ball in his hands constantly and was small. Completely different than a guy who’s primary job would be catch and shoot threes

He told a reporter from another board it's either NBA draft or back at ISU. If he is in college next year it will be with us.

Milan improved his 3 point consistency a lot over this past off season. And his defense was much better. You may be right, he may not have the instincts to be a great rebounder.

A big reason for him to come back to ISU would be to work on his weak spots. Rebounding being one of them and that will require work in the weight room. He also needs to get better putting the ball on the floor and scoring in the paint. He's not explosive, so doubt he'll ever be strong finisher at the rim, but he could develop a lethal mid-range shot with his touch.

And coming back offers a coaching staff he knows and trusts to push him. And TJ/staff have shown to use a point forward scheme, which could put the ball in Milan's hands vs. being a spot-up shooter. Something I'm sure NBA GM's would like to see.

Sorry but not. His D was better at the end of the year but still not good. He's just too slow. Has zero twitch. He was good doubling people but straight up wasn't a TJ type defender

I agree with the bolded, but ISU's scheme does nothing to help him in this regard. There are no sets to get him moving towards the basket . His game is one-dimensional.
