*** Official #23 Tennessee vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I can't belive jefferson didn't play. So much for being a great teammate. I obviously don't know how he is feeling but I'm pretty sure an old school guy would have played fir his team.
i dont think he is close to ready. he had a severe ankle sprain. the type that usually take 4-8 weeks to recover from.

Unfortunately this probably wasn't that surprising. We looked great without Jefferson against Kentucky, but there are countless examples of teams looking great for a game without their best player and then coming down to earth after that. Maybe one year we'll catch a break

That backcourtt violoation shoul have been called. I've watched the play 3 times now. He definitely controlled the ball, it was not a tip. That is the definition of the rule. We are not playing well, but INCREDIBLY athletic plays are USUALLY against the rules.

Don't be stupid.... my word. It's one thing to lose this game... but we don't need morons on here.

Foul shots matter.
In 2008 I was in a pool with a ~$5k payout.

Based on my belief Bill Self usually lost in the 2nd round that’s what I picked.

My Final Four team from their region: Davidson.

That rimmed out 3 by Curry’s teammate goes in I easily win the pool.

But, I still would have shared the win had Derrick Rose made his ******* FTs and Memphis won.

Bonus old man story:

The next year during the summer I was at a Best Buy midday. I look up and see a gorgeous woman walking with some kids. One of them had a familiar face.

When I realized who it was I briefly considered saying hello and telling recently drafted Steph Curry about how close he came to winning me $5k. Ultimately I didn’t want to bug him, and I kinda felt bad knowing this kid’s career was DOA unless he got traded from Golden State early.

Edit: Steph was buying his first TV as a professional with his mom (and what I assume were friends). This was the closest electronics store to the Warriors’ practice facility. I saw the Dunleavy kid there during his rookie year too.

How in the hell can’t college athletes shoot a freaking free throw. We shot those in grade school!
