3-7 is actually more indicative of the season than ncaa tournament
The tournament is a crapshoot. One game, winner moves on events are exciting for fans, but can lead to highly misleading results
Which is why next season will be very interesting for Iowa: do they revert back to the middle of the conference like they did all season, or can they demonstrate they are in the top tier of the conference?
Time will tell. The last 3 games have given Iowa fans optimism, but it’s only been 3 games out of 36. So if I were an Iowa fan, I would be enjoying this run, but being cautiously optimistic about next season
I’m not taking this as being argumentative or anything other than a conversation so I hope you feel the same way… But this is literally the definition of the kinds of things that I like to get to the bottom of…
Nobody truly knows what any team is going to be next year… I mean, I was surprised to find out BILL Self in Kansas hasn’t been past the first weekend in a long time… thanks
@HoopsTournament Now I promise you there are fans on the Kansas board and fans all around the country that are saying “bills done, it’s time for his him to retire”, but that’s just “those“ kind of fans…
I assure you, Bill can still coach basketball. Has he lost his passion. Hell I don’t know, but that kind of rhetoric always drives me nuts….
So how does that pertain to Iowa you ask…
Well, here’s the thing..,I would imagine you, like me don’t necessarily find that Iowa team overly talented, but this coach… Who has a long, long, long history of putting highly coached basketball teams on the court is probably more likely to keep succeeding than the other way around so in reality, I believe what people really mean is….man I hope to hell Iowa doesn’t start being good…
Just like rival fans want Bill self to not be able to coach anymore, and the ****** fans on his own board are gonna respond like that no matter who the coach is and I’ve witnessed that firsthand on about 50 different message boards, including Michigan State and Tom Izzy at points in time
