St. John’s is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1999 and the 10th time overall. They are 6-3 in the Sweet Sixteen. They defeated Maryland in the 1999 Sweet Sixteen and have won their last 3 Sweet Sixteen games. This is St. John’s first Sweet Sixteen as a #5 seed.

Fla got wrecked in the SEC semis and aren't the same as last year but finished the overall season strong.
