JJeff Injury Updates

I don't know if you've noticed, but the chemistry, ball movement, and shot making have been on another level lately.

This team without JJ doesn't need saving.
It might actually be better. I don't like when they make make JJ do everything, bc he doesn't need to.

Honestly I loved seeing the flow of the offense with Jefferson out. There were far less turnovers. That's not a knock on Jefferson, we are definitely better with him, and the opponent had something to do with it. They just weren't very good.

I think we got to look at the positives & be thankful for them

For example…

Thankfully JJ isn’t a horse. You think it was tough watching the replay and seeing TJ’s emotion on the sidelines…

Now imagine TJ having to walk down there with his rifle and put JJ down.

That would have been really devastating.

That’s really all the positive thoughts I’ve got right now.

Solid stuff….and all BS aside that would indeed be awful :p

Just talked to an actual Dr who’s an ISU alumni and fan.

He’s with me.

0% tomorrow.
25% next weekend.
50% the weekend after that.

Keeping in mind this would also be a limited JJ.

He’s not gonna be 100% for a month imho.
Well hey then, when you get a chance, ask him his opinion of whether my cancer will come back. No offense to you personally but he'd have as little knowledge on that as JJeff's ankle injury timeline.

I would say the opponent had more than something to do with it. We will see how good that offense flows without JJ and vs top shelf talent. I hope you’re right, and seeing Toure and Heise step up was exactly what was needed.

Those talking about how good we looked without Jefferson don't realize how bad and small Tenn State is.

Also they didn't expect how we had to adjust on offense.

Now that Kentucky knows he won't play they can scheme against it.

Buchanan scores most of his points off put backs, and our starting backcourt shoots under 30% from 3. The only consistent starters who score in the half court offense are Milan and JJ. That’s very clear and hard to argue against if you’ve watched any of their games this year
Toure has shot a lot better the last few games. Batemon's a very good shooter. Hy-ZEE has had some really good games, including the last one, Buchanan is a consistent scorer when he gets the ball in good position. Our bad offensive games have been because we ran bad offense, not because we don't have guys who can score.

Checked out a Kentucky board to see what their thoughts are, and its just 90% of them arguing with each other. All message boards are the same, lol
I know a board administrator, not sure if he went to ISU.

He indicates there is a 50% chance all boards are the same and a 50% chance that they aren't different.

Angry and confident Heise.....Senior Tamin....we still have lots of firepower....just need to not start with giving them a 10 pt lead.
This is a biggie.

For one, having to claw back from any significant deficit will not bode well. We encountered that a few times in regular season, and seems to happen a lot with losses in NCAA tournament.

Also, there's fan engagement/momentum. Keep UK crowd out and ISU's involved.

Lipsey looked a little deflated last game, rightfully so then had a bunch of bogus foul calls on him so hopefully that doesn’t carry over. Everyone stepped up big though.

That team was terrible, or at least played terribly against. Can't draw any conclusions re: whether JJeff's absence made the offense better or worse, also an "n" of one. No way we're a better team, on offense or defense, without JJeff. The question will be if we're good enough to beat UK without him vs. UK missing a guard and having another player with a painful knee. I think it comes down to the last 2-3 minutes. I think the team can play lock down defense at the end, just not confident enough we can hit free throws in crunch time.
