I wonder if Nick Cronin has whined about having to travel to the Eastern Time Zone.

The answer is yes, other schools and conferences would tolerate it. Sad to say.
Look up his stats when he was at Duke and Va. NOT impressive. I could understand Duke - they have 75% of their roster go to the NBA each year - hard to crack the top 10 in their line up. BUT, he didn't have impressive stats at a "much poorer than this year" Cavalier team. This may likely be the reason he chose to go down a level. He is now a junior and putting up impressive numbers. His maturity & improvement should be expected - but he is also doing it against Ivy league competition. The jury is out on whether he could perform at that same level against P5 competition. He'll have a chance, at least for 1 game, in this tourney.
Agree, but that conference in particular is a cesspool. Teams continually lower the bar and allow others cover for their own deplorable behavior.

Part of that is simple population density so there are more schools in the eastern half of the country (map of division 1 schools in the continental US)
And then on top of that, the west coast's support of college sports isn't all that great either.
Hey times have changed it's not like the prudish old days when Larry E couldn't survive having a couple of drinks with coeds from another university.
