***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

Purdue is moving up a lot. I have them as the last 2 seed now ahead of Illinois and MSU. Also watch out for Virginia. They may become a 2 seed.
How is Purdue moving up a lot. There isn’t a ton of movement based on these games. They might move up slightly but a lot is an overreaction.

Exactly. Conference tourneys aren’t going to move a team up more than maybe 1-2 spots in the S-curve, 3 spots MAX. Keep in mind these are just additional games, it’s no different than if Purdue beat Nebraska in the regular season. Though they are in a neutral court.

If you view it that way, the MAX a team is going to move is one seed line. Purdue and Virginia were probably between 11-14 on the S-Curve, so it is extremely unlikely even one of them gets to a two, much less both.

Houston, Kansas & BYU feature 3 players that the media have constantly nonstop stated are top 5 NBA Lottery picks. Meanwhile the Big 12 Player of the Year picked by the coaches, took the game over on Houston’s final 2 possessions and proved it while being guarded perfectly by Toure. Why is Bradley not getting the media’s attention to the level of the other3? IMO Peterson has played himself out of the narrative by sitting out the regular season and laying an egg last night while Bradley does the opposite.

That entire S curve was extremely tight. The difference between predictive metrics and results based metrics makes it really tough to predict.

Everyone assume bracket matrix is the s curve, which had this order.
MSU, Illinois, ISU, Nebraska, Gonzaga, Purdue, Alabama, Virginia

Who knows if that was the S curve that the committee went with. They could have easily started like this
ISU, Illinois, MSU, Purdue, Virginia, Alabama, Nebraska, Gonzaga

Not many games remaining today and tomorrow; committee has stated before they pretty much have things locked by Saturday outside of any automatic bids.

Our metrics:
KenPom 6
Torvik 7
BPI 6
Net 7
AP 7

No way we don’t get a 2.

I agree that we get a 2, but our results metrics make it at least a question.
KPI 13
SOR 11
WAB 9

If it were all predictive metrics the s curve looks like this
Houston
ISU
Illinois
Purdue
UConn
Gonzaga
MSU
Vandy
Tennessee
Louisville
Alabama
Virginia

If it was all results based metrics
Houston
UConn
Virginia
Purdue
MSU
ISU
Vandy
Alabama
Nebraska
Kansas
Gonzaga
Arkansas

If you average them all
Houston
UConn
ISU
Purdue
MSU
Gonzaga
Virginia
Illinois
Vanderbilt
Alabama
Nebraska
Kansas

Go Vermont. UMBC could get a 15 seed. Vermont would get a 16 and push a worse team up the s-curve for the round of 64 game

Since Palm left, cbs sports has gotten even worse. At least they're smart enough to not say who their bracketologist actually is. I looked at this and had to take a double take on the two and three lines. Wasn't sure if it was for this season lol

this is so bad. completely meat riding the B10 here. Purdue a 2 seed? Give me a ******* break

Solid showing for we don’t boo Kansas. Must have forgot the bailout calls Petersen got every time he drives. Man this place is quieter than a library. Hardly feels like a KU game. First game just took the crowd out.
I loved the "Whose house? Coog's house" cheer at the end of the game. For some reason there weren't many Jayhawks around to hear it.. Many KU fans left with more than 10 minutes left in the game.It was worth the price of admission to see a helluva ISU game & an *** whooping of the beakers.

The casual traveling these days is wild.

Guard on Wisconsin just received the ball at the top of the key, slowly walked three full steps without taking a single dribble and stopped, all right in front of the ref, no call.

Same with three seconds. Saw one, maybe two, all year.
