Vinny is good for an at large. The staff clarified before the tournament that a MFF counts as a match and has it in writing from the NCAA that it does. He will be eligibleI thought you had to go out and start the match for it to count?

I knew all that but I thought that they passed some deal where you have to wrestle, like go out to the mat and start the match two times to be able to receive a at large. The autos are given to the conference tourney. Say they gave 5 to 157. The top 5 placers at the tourney get the autos. There are 4-5 at larges for each weight for situations like Vinny’s. You just don’t want 5-6 infront of a Vinny to also not finish in the allocations.
You can but you’ll have to skip through the broadcast to get to it.Man, I had to run out and missed the Euton comeback and Gaitan winning. I hope that I can watch replays later because ESPN+ doesn't seem to have it up right now.
You score points at ncaas by winning matches, bonus, and placement. They project what your team will score based on rankings. We lose a decent amount of points with no frost at 33 (maybe other injuries). So our chances at a trophy get slimmer when you swap grice for frost.Hi all, I was reading through the thread, can someone tell me what it means when people were saying an injury "drops us down to a tie for 5th with Iowa", I don't get it? Are you just talking about national rankings? And if so, why does that matter, I thought bids to the NCAAs was based strictly on performances at the conference championships? Sorry if too dumb...
They were up about 10 minutes ago when I watched them. You might want to check again.Man, I had to run out and missed the Euton comeback and Gaitan winning. I hope that I can watch replays later because ESPN+ doesn't seem to have it up right now.
OK, so projections for NCAAs, I get that. Still holding out hope for a podium finish if some of our guys over-perform then, but 4/5/6 most likely. And as always, no one will challenge PSU.You score points at ncaas by winning matches, bonus, and placement. They project what your team will score based on rankings. You are correct performance on the mat is what matters but most of your points are scored by bonus (rarer at ncaas since the wrestlers are better) and above that high placers (1st gets 16 8th only gets 3 pts) so we are counting on big points already from yonger, rocky and ech. Hopefully they dont falter and we get others to contribute and overperform.OK, so projections for NCAAs, I get that. Iowa will have a couple guys under perform and crap the bed. It’s a tail as old as time. We should still be in decent shape as far as they goOK, so projections for NCAAs, I get that. Both athletes had knee injuries before the tournament Grice in Nov and just back in FebOne injury was a head to head collision and the the other two were knee injuries that are prototypical high level college wrestling. Nothing to see here or start conversations about training or practice scheduling….
I don't know but I suspect our experienced coaching staff knows the rules at least as well as the brain trust on this forum.SIAP. Did KD or anyone clarify Zerban's situation? Could we have sent him out for a second match and injury default right away to get his two matches and auto-bid? Or did he fail protocol and it would have been inappropriate to even send him out?
Would be a shame if he didn’t get an at-large and it could have been handled differently.

The other thing is, maybe Zerban had a serious concussion and his health is more important than the wishes of some Cyclone wrestling fans.
So, no possibility of a wrestleback?
Why be a ****No, the coaches didn't suddenly vote to change the tournament format in the last few hours.
