Safe to say the person keeping the official book is done doing it at the state tournament. Most teams keep their own book, you would have thought that they would have realized the official book was wrong and alerted the official book that they were wrong and called over the officials to get it correct. Maybe they tried and were blown off by the person keeping the official book, but it's why they have to be talking during the game. "That time out was on white," and make sure both agree, if not, then blow the horn and bring the officials over to straighten it out. I kept the book for varsity bb for a number of years, and its inexcusable to have something like what happened at the state level. We were always told if we were the official book, that if you are unsure, then ask, either the other person keeping the book or blow the horn and call over an official.
Most score boards today have the number of timeouts left for each team, you would have thought someone would have saw they credited the timeout to the wrong team and said something about it.
