How in the world is that a jump ball

The jump ball call in Women’s Basketball is one of the most irritating things I have ever witnessed in sports. High school girls is literally ridiculous. You can put a hand on the ball as a defender, and they almost immediately call a jump ball.

She got called for the “Uh, she’s taller and came up with a 50/50 ball next to two opposing players, must’ve fouled” that gets called in youth basketball

It’s pretty obvious that the Arizona State game plan was to come out and be a very physical team. It really disrupted the Cyclones offense. Now the question is what adjustments will we make at halftime?

Part of the 23% is when they foul us before the shot or during the shot and there is no call.

Don't be reductive.

HOWEVER, I agree with you about the open shots. We are getting what we want and not making the normal amount. Up those shots going through the hoop, we'll win this thing.

Yeah they are physical, if there were consistent calls we may not be so frustrated. Jada got undercut, no call. Williams gets offensive rebound and gets called for nothing. They hand check and bump the whole was up the court, only called occasionally. Now…making shots is on us!

I never said the officials were making us shoot the way we are. But they are DEFINITELY influencing the game. Both can be, and imo are, true.

They're taught to do that, at all levels. It's unfortunate, but a good coach can expose those sorts of things. It's sort of like a hail mary at the end of a half in football.
