USA women's hockey in some trouble in the gold medal match. Down 1-0 in the second intermission.

Just incorrect though. These teams are very close. This is the 8th women's hockey gold medal game in Olympic history, USA/Canada have played each other in 7 of them now and Canada was 4-2 in those first six. They beat the US in 2022 and these teams play all the time. The US is 18-14 against Canada since that 2022 Olympic finals.

Saying it would be a historic choke job would be undermining this women's team in a huge way. US are/were favorites for sure, but Canada is, and has always been, right there with them.

Yeah actually you are incorrect on this one. We have beat them 7 straight times in the last two years


As of the 2026 Winter Olympics, the U.S. women's ice hockey team has won seven consecutive games against Canada. This winning streak began with victories in the 2025 World Championships and continued through the 2025–26 Rivalry Series and the 2026 Olympic preliminary round
