The fact that KState gave no thought of firing Tang immediately after he made the outrageous ISU cheating accusation one year ago takes away any opportunity for them to use this excuse now.If they really want to go back and use that wording could "Spygate" not be an example of publicly embarrassing your university?
everyone else saw it as weird they were just still in the honeymoon phase with him at that point
I'd be dancing like that too if I knew I had an $18 million parachute waiting for me. As someone said earlier, I hope KState gets stuck paying the full bill.
Me too. Take KSU to court. Get your 18M and make them also pay all of the lawyer/court fees for wasting your time with these games.I hope Tang gets every penny of that buyout.
Exactly....but no K-Staters stepped up and called him a fool then, so they were guilty too. That's funny because Tang brought "public disrepute, embarrassment, and ridicule" to his university over a year ago when he falsely accused Iowa State University of cheating. Obviously, this excuse is a desperate attempt to get out of paying Tang the $18 million Kansas State University is legally obligated to pay him.
I was thinking that too. If he wasn't disciplined internally when that happened (TWO years ago now), I don't know if that can be used here. Like all of the "One Shining Moment" video moments happened 2+ seasons ago.The fact that KState gave no thought of firing Tang immediately after he made the outrageous ISU cheating accusation one year ago takes away any opportunity for them to use this excuse now.
why in the world would he go to KSU? He's a huge Hawk fan at his dream job.If they really dumped him "for cause", I hope he sues them for double his buy out.
Also, anyone think there is an ounce of truth to McCollum to Manhattan? Or are the twitter burners just burnin?
I agree I don't think it holds up, but only Tang is dumb enough to make comments that would make KSU think the door is even opened a tiny crack for them to potentially legally get out of that buyout. He gave them an opening. I don't really think it holds up in court either for cause, but he was going to be gone either way I think and his recent comments gave them a chance to squeeze him to negotiate. They just don't know how much getting him out of town will cost yet
What rumors? Link? Also, anyone think there is an ounce of truth to McCollum to Manhattan? Or are the twitter burners just burnin?
Sounds like a lawsuit. That's basically a get out of jail free card if interpreted broadly enough. Losing enough games would bring ridicule and embarrassment.
KSU is going to get sued. They could end up owing more than the buyout.I'd be dancing like that too if I knew I had an $18 million parachute waiting for me. As someone said earlier, I hope KState gets stuck paying the full bill.
I don’t know anything but McCollum will never leave Iowa. His dream job allegedly. Iowa has the money I’m sure to let him build what he wants. Or a McCollum extension incoming lolIf they really dumped him "for cause", I hope he sues them for double his buy out.
