Tang gonna Tang

If they really want to go back and use that wording could "Spygate" not be an example of publicly embarrassing your university?

everyone else saw it as weird they were just still in the honeymoon phase with him at that point
The fact that KState gave no thought of firing Tang immediately after he made the outrageous ISU cheating accusation one year ago takes away any opportunity for them to use this excuse now.

If they really dumped him "for cause", I hope he sues them for double his buy out.

Also, anyone think there is an ounce of truth to McCollum to Manhattan? Or are the twitter burners just burnin?

That's funny because Tang brought "public disrepute, embarrassment, and ridicule" to his university over a year ago when he falsely accused Iowa State University of cheating. Obviously, this excuse is a desperate attempt to get out of paying Tang the $18 million Kansas State University is legally obligated to pay him.
Exactly....but no K-Staters stepped up and called him a fool then, so they were guilty too.

Literally, he's been an embarrassment to KSU for a while, lol. LIke others have said, i'm sure they will maybe negotiate a lower buyout...if i was his attorney i'd be fighting...coaches say dumb stuff and throw kids under the bus all the time at press conferences.

I hope they have to pay him, just to waste their money.

I was thinking that too. If he wasn't disciplined internally when that happened (TWO years ago now), I don't know if that can be used here. Like all of the "One Shining Moment" video moments happened 2+ seasons ago.

That being said, he has had plant of mind-numbingly bad press conferences since then that makes me thing they do have enough to at least negotiate a reduced buyout.

Kansas State University is desperate and they know they're f*cked. This is a Hail Mary attempt to get rid of Tang without paying what they're legally obligated to pay him.

They're hoping they can have the lawyers duke it out and maybe reduce his payout by $10 million or so.

Just my opinion.

He gave them an opening. I don't really think it holds up in court either for cause, but he was going to be gone either way I think and his recent comments gave them a chance to squeeze him to negotiate. They just don't know how much getting him out of town will cost yet
I agree I don't think it holds up, but only Tang is dumb enough to make comments that would make KSU think the door is even opened a tiny crack for them to potentially legally get out of that buyout.

I don’t know anything but McCollum will never leave Iowa. His dream job allegedly. Iowa has the money I’m sure to let him build what he wants. Or a McCollum extension incoming lol
