Another female teacher incident

Guidance counselor texting female students and setting up grooming prospects. "I can't wait until you're 18 and we can be together" type of stuff. He's in his mid 30s with a wife and 3 young kids of his own.

I worked at a restaurant once that had a strict rule about managers not allowed to have relationships with staff.

The head back of house/cooks manager, 30ish, married, kids, the whole thing, hooked up with a server at some after hours party.

I always wondered why it was so difficult for him to just, I don't know, go home after the shift or just like not hook up with a server.

I'd guess a divorce followed after he got fired.

Allegedly school was notified in 2024 and did nothing. It has continued and finally the cops got involved. Superintendent allegedly did not mandatory report despite being informed and there's allegations of staff intimidation as well.

Allegedly he left 2 previous jobs for similar reasons but resigned without charges or reporting to the State.

A girl from the 1st school (10 years ago) was at the school board meeting and described what was done to her.
This post then the video, what a mess glad I'm not on that board. Administration dropped the ball on this hiring.
 
If you are a mandatory reporter and you don't report I assume you lose your job and possibly jail time??? If not they should. That is terrible that the school allowed it to happen and not do anything about it.
Never charged, the state would have to prove the teacher or administrator knew and did not report it. It's one thing to suspect something and to turn in someone just because you think it's going on. Generally if it's a teacher, they are going to report it to HR or their superior, if you do that, you have fulfilled your mandatory duty, whatever happens after that, its out of your hands.

If you report it to your principal and document it, email for instance, it would be rare for your to be charged under the law by the state. In fact I have need read or heard of a case of it happening. Could they, maybe, but they are going to go after the license of the principal more than the teacher or secondary staff that didn't reported it directly to DHS. If you go directly to state, you better be 100% sure it's happening, because if you are wrong, you really opened up a lot of problems for yourself. If I just think it's happening, going to HR or my principal is going to save me a lot of hassle. Plus it follows the chain of command that they love to remind you about all the time. The district is going to want to control a story like this as much as possible.

I am just quoting the law. I also understand what you said. But the legislature has tightened the requirements in the last few years. I have family members who are mandatory reporters and they have mentioned this to me about the changes.

Yes, I get the tightened the laws, but we both know its all for show, I will start to believe they are serious about this when they charge a person for not reporting after they have reported it up the chain of command. This is a very grey area of the law, and everyone in education knows it. No one wants to be the person that accuses someone to the state before going to your principal first and having them do nothing.

Nothing drives county attorneys and sheriffs more crazy than gutless administrators who want to poo poo incidents and fail to realize that it is the law enforcement, state investigators, grand juries and county attorneys who ultimately are entrusted by state law to decide if there is evidence to file charges.

True in the past, but now they are coming after those people in charge that passed on reporting it to the police. We have seen that in cases like Atlantic and a few other districts, people are asking "why was this covered up and not reported?" Those in charge will have their career ruined. Few are going to risk that, better me keeping my job than risk not turning the pervert in to face justice.

Agree. I think most of the administrators have the ethical backbone for doing the right thing. However, I had a dealing with an administrator who chewed me out for turning another administrator into the law. And that was in the last 10 years.

Some videos hit my Tiktok feed of parents, particularly one dad, absolutely going off on who I believe is the superintendent

Follow up on this one. The teacher was fired earlier this week.
 
Our educational system continues to "rise."
Was asked to sub for a HS history teacher that simply walked out, minus anything resembling a two week notice. No excuses, just "adios."
About half of the students showed up 15- 20 minutes late, first day.
When I questioned the principal, re: how to handle this, his response was, "As long as they show up within 20 minutes of class time, don't mark them as tardy."
Folks, we have much greater degrees of concern re: education, as opposed to teacher's that f**k their students.
Haven't researched our percipitous US educational "fall" of recent...don't need to.
Ps. Try requesting that students not play on their phone, during class time. If you haven't spent time teaching in a modern day classroom, dissapear.
