Tang gonna Tang

OSU wanted Travis Ford gone for 3-4 years before they canned him. Basketball buyouts are a thing teams typically don’t eat. I think he gets at least 1 more season to turn it around. Maybe I am wrong and they are full up with Kansas wheat money.

He will be starting over next season with an all new roster.
Ford kind of reminds me of Fran McC now. Like, you're probably going to make the tourney every other year. Maybe once in a while you'll win a game but that's about peak.

I used to wish an Iowa State ballhandler when ISU really needed to shoot some FTs would just drive into Bruce because he was always way out on the floor. I assume it would be an automatic technical foul.

Now when I watch a KSU game that doesn't involve ISU I find myself rewinding the game every now and then so I can laugh at how ridiculous Tang is on the sideline. I point it out to Mrs. Velo and she can't stop laughing.
Some game I flashed by last night Sean Miller got tangled up in a play along the sideline and they didn't do anything about it.

Would Max Jones and Tyreek Smith take this team to the next level? Neither of those guys were anything special.

Maybe the mystery third missing player was the key.
Textbook example:

"Grasping at straws" is an idiom that means making desperate but futile attempts to escape from a problem or find a solution when nothing you choose is likely to work. It implies a sense of hopelessness or a last-ditch effort.

Ya. Tang seems more like a Prohm. More of a ‘oh ****, we definitely don’t have a coach that can do this’ kind of situation. Hopefully he can tread water for a couple more years.

No they wouldn’t help much. It seems obvious the internal pressure and locker room are about ready to collapse in on themselves. May as well happen on Sunday.

Yeah, Tang and Prohm can recruit but Xs and Os wise they obviously struggle.

Tang and staff truly believing that you can gain an advantage by taking a cell phone video from 25 feet away (wouldn't be able to hear anything with the band/other crowd noise), relaying it to a staffer, then TJ to analyze, draw up a play, and communicate said play to players, all within a 2 minute timeout, should tell you all you need to know about who Tang and Co. are. That doesn't even acknowledge the fact that basketball huddles are more about general coaching points of "rebound better, push it more." They are clowns.

Noticed that Fitz, while skeptical, never stated unequivocally that Tang's claim of ISU cheating was a bunch of bullsh*t.

Oh well, it's nice to see he's given us credit for breaking KState.

He, indirectly just made Tang look even worse. Says maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. Tang is just a coach that wants to blame everyone but himself for their dismal record.

That had more to do with Boone Pickens liking Ford than anything else. If you have a guy like that as a donor, you let it ride.

Tang's NIL budget is top 15 in the nation and KState is dead last in the Big 12 with a 1-7 record. He's now blaming the NCAA, insisting they should have 3 more players on their roster who've been ruled ineligible.
In somewhat fairness to Tang, who IS ineligible these days? We got NBA guys signing up, 30 year olds suing to come back for year 8, etc.

I will be disappointed if we don't roll out Monte, Georges, and Rob Jones for the NCAA tournament.

He is basically saying Tang was an idiot for making the claim and it's in his DNA to get distracted and blame others.

He didn't need to spell it out simplistically

Fitz took a major shot at Tang.

His exact words were "At the time, I wanted to believe Jerome Tang, I really did. But the way things have fallen apart since then, I don't know if it's true or not."

Obviously, he took a shot at Tang for making such a wild accusation after they lost, but he also left open the possibility that ISU was indeed cheating that day. It doesn't bother me too much because I know Fitz is a KState homer, but it's funny to me that he doesn't just come out say Tang's accusation was completely false.

Not just false, but preposterous. How do you get the meat of a timeout discussion on video, get the video to the ISU huddle, watch it to glean useful information, formulate a plan to counteract any useful information gleaned, and communicate that information to your team during a 2 minute timeout? It can't be done and would be more of a distraction than at all useful if anyone tried. Anyone with half a brain knew right away that it made zero sense.

That could also be just a polite way of saying it's complete BS, but not wanting to outright call Tang a liar.
