MLB: ***2026 Minnesota Twins***

That is a great, budget signing. He may be washed up, but they aren't paying him much. More likely he has something left in the tank, certainly better than a lot of current options.
Twins love those washed up pitchers. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go after Caleb Thiellbar next.

Its moneyball. I don't think Taylor Rogers is washed up. He was decent last year. Not an all star, but not awful. He's old enough that he might be worse.

Thielbar would be a great guy to get, but he'd cost $4.5M. He was great last year and could fall off a cliff. If you could pay him $2M, its a no brainer. At $4.5M plus trade cost, maybe not.

I'd rather sign Rogers, trade for Thielbar and sign 1 or 2 more fringe guys and hope 1 or 2 of them hit than sign any of the top free agents.

Do they get 1st shot buy the team?
According to reports, no, but I am sure they would have an inside edge if they were put up for a full sale.

Ever the optimist, I'm excited to see if the new Pohlad running the team is any different than the other Pohlads.

How many Utility players do the Twins need to sign? By my count, this guy makes three ... or four, depending on your perspective on Bell.

I don't think much happens personnel wise or with the sale of the team until after the 2027 lockout is cleared up.

New Pohlad= Joe Pohlad. The organization is a **** show from top to bottom. Having Derek Falvey act as President of Baseball Operations and oversee Business Operations pretty much guarantees continued failure.

Tom Pohlad may be the same as Joe, but he hasn't been directly involved with the team ever, so nobody can say that for sure. Joe wanted to stick around but was forced out by the family.

True, I meant he will have the same limitations that Joe did. The front office is dysfunctional.

The Twins president and Vikings GM being ousted on the same day feels like more than just a timing coincidence.

I'm somewhat skeptical given the Pholads are involved, but maybe the new minority owners are pushing for changes to make the organization more competent.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a fan of Falvey, but at the same time, the guy was given nearly impossible restrictions. Derek, we want you to be competitive, but you can only shop in the sketchy, old or broken aisle. Good luck!

I still have next to no hope it will be any better. Falvey wasn't perfect but really was just a fall guy.

One hope is that they handle Royce Lewis differently. He has to perform, but he can be the face of the franchise, as a No. 1 pick should be. Royce was definitely on a different page from the old management team.

Stay skeptical, but it is nice that the single Pohlad in charge of everything is a Pohlad who has never been involved in any Twins decisions.

2 big steps for the Twins since the new minority owners came on board. Sounds like, you want our money, here is what we want. Hopefully step 3 is a great baseball person.
