*** Official #2 IOWA STATE vs Kansas Game(Day) Thread ***

Buchanan with only 14 minutes. 1 foul. Wonder if TJ was trying to send a statement. Didn’t see any injury type of thing

Probably because he was worthless on defense. Then on offense he was so scared of Buzunga he was practically peeing himself in the paint.

They're weird. They don't look that bad, seems like they are loaded with talent like your typical j- hawk team is. Then again, I really haven't watched them until tonight, so can't tell you what's gone wrong.
Well, they obviously can't go more than 7 deep. Up 24 with a couple of minutes and you still have your starters in until 0:25. **** move, Bill.

If you can get some fouls called on them (not happening at Phog, but maybe on the road), they could be in trouble.

I was afraid tonight was going to happen, this was a must game for KU, and we came out slow allowing their crowd to get into the game. I have not watched KU a lot this year, but that was the best game I have seen them play all year, shot over 50% from the field, hitting 10 three pointers.
ISU could have buried them tonight, and they were up to the challenge, now ISU has to regroup, and not let this loss, cause another one in the next game. We get a rematch in Hilton later in the year, and now need to go on a run playing the bottom teams in the league. Burn this video, get ready for a trip to Cincinnati on Saturday.

I thought it was one of the better games I've seen from KU in maybe two seasons.

They had kind of a bizarre team last year and I see more potential with this one. Not deep but their guards could be good for the tourney.

I did hear he was battling a bug...not sure if true
Personally think it was more of an education pull

Well, it was fun while it lasted. We haven’t really looked “right” in a while. Can’t start games the way we have in games like this. This one was basically over in the first 10 minutes. We have to figure out how to be ready at the jump, or it’s going to happen again and again.

He needs more playing time.
At this stage I feel like you have to just be cycling Toure, Batemon, Heise to see who gets hot on offense. Heise defense very good, Toure we know can be elite but also becoming inconsistent. Batemon not as strong on D but huge energy. Those guys probably need even minutes. I don’t feel like you can take Tamin off the floor a ton right now with Toure coming more down to earth. Post depth is becoming a problem if Pleta is all you have off the bench.

Watched them in Vegas during the players era and I thought they were a pretty good team without Peterson. Think they had trouble learning to play with him. I think they’re gonna get better but I’m kinda glad we took a loss like this. Shows them they gotta show up every single game. In this league this year, they’re all gonna be tough. A wake up call like this might turn into a blessing.
I don't mind the loss, hell I was not feeling a win tonight even before it started but I didn't see it playing out quite like it did. A 6-12 point loss i would be handling better. I'd be curious to learn the last time a team that ended up a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament took a 20+ loss to an unranked team during their season.

Turn the ball over and miss shots to start game and now you give other Team confidence as well as easier to play with the lead. Can not beat talented teams like that.

Sucked because I was looking forward to watching but hopefully end of year this loss is long

Council is a very good player.

I mean Buchanan was completely lost on defense all night and looked scared. Bigunda is far from toughest matchup he will have all year. Hate losing but getting slapped hopefully wakes them up as everyone is saying, reminder we’re still 16-1. Beat cincy Saturday comfortably and everyone will feel better.

Toures offense is becoming an issue. If Tamin is off like he was tonight that backcourt becomes very limited. I think that’s what you saw to start the game tonight. I imagine you’re going to see Batemon and Heise creep in on some of his minutes.
He was getting the Tamin freshman treatment at times. Just daring him to shoot a jumper n

OMG, we went from 12 to 14 on offense and 2 to 5 on defense on Kenpom! How will we ever recover!

People on here are overreacting way more than the national folks will.
That is a walloping in the metrics, but yeah…still safely in top tier national title contender territory.

And couldn't miss shots for several stretches
