**** WBB: Gamethread - Cyclones host Baylor - 2 pm Sunday ESPN ****

You don't fix someone of her ability by taking her out. Just needs to work on confidence and any small changes. She is one of the most skilled players to ever wear the uniform.

Offense doesn't seem to want to create any shots for anybody but Audi. We have too many shooters to not create shots for other players.

Fennelly's offense has been feed the star and have the rest of the team stand around and watch since Ashley, possibly longer. That was my beef against going to Audi continuously in the weak non-con games. Yes we could do it all night, but it doesn't give anyone else game experience and confidence when we run into a team that cuts that off and we need another shot.

Well thoughts 1st then go back and read the thread.
Baylor shot amazingly well from the free throw line.
Baylor did a way better job of working the refs.
Our defense was spotty at best.
That really nice ball rotation we saw early in the season has disappeared.
Whatever was drawn up for the last play of the game tear that one out of the playbook and burn it.
Brought 14 of us to the game and we got to see a entertaining game other than the final score. El Azteca works pretty well for a larger group and their pricing is still reasonable.

For those that complain about the last play. First of all, Crooks wasn't triple teamed or double teamed. Here's a view of what Brown saw as she began the pass. A one on one situation. With an easy spin and layup Crooks, at worst, ties the game or goes to the line. At best, she scores and goes to the line. All of the guards were covered.View attachment 165285
We had the play we wanted, and it was a poor pass, low and Crooks struggled to get it, but you have feed her the ball when she is one on one. The play was not the problem, it was the execution that was at fault.

Longer Bridgette Carlton same problem and maybe even longer, I'd have to look at rosters to know for sure.
This team could be a better version than our late 90s early 00s team or it can be the product we've seen lately. Early in the season we were moving the ball well then got away from it.

I chuckle with all of the second guessing of the last play. As I sat in the stands I said, the best play would be get it to Crooks and score/get fouled. Especially as POORLY as the guards shot all day. And one had to assume Baylor would cover the three, which they did. Hoping for a miracle three again wouldn't cut it and Baylor had that covered quite well. Just a crappy pass from Brown into Crooks.

I'm sorry but drawing up for a play for the player that Baylor took out of the game in the 2nd half was absolutely dumb. The fact that we fell into that trap is just a total coaching failure.

Careful, I got ridiculed for bringing this up after the Kansas win...

Even with a good pass I don't think Crooks gets it off in time. It was a horrendous play call.

AB seems to have lost all confidence and was sped up by Baylor on every possession she had. Hope things turn around for her soon because that Baylor game state is a loser. If not Hare Syd and AJ need to hit more shots to compensate for lack of scoring. Baylor got to every 50/50 ball it seemed like.

She has a back issue now that makes more sense watching her shoot FT and 3's-
