*** Official West Virginia vs #3 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I thought Tyrus Magee was a great 3 pt shooter...but Milan...holy cow!

Niang was pretty great with a set shot and has made a long nba career of it, but I think Milan is now our best set shot 3pt shooter now. He releases higher than Niang to my eye.

Most of our other best shooters would take a lot of shots on the move or get a high release with a jump shot. McGee really ran around like a maniac to take a difficult shot. Cujo did a lot last year too.

Royce's skillset scoring wise was fairly limited to the paint. I swear I saw some stat that season that the more he scored the worse the team did, like we were undefeated if he scored under something like 15 or 20 and did pretty poorly if he scored more.
The tourney game against Kentucky proved it. He played well ... And that was it.

Niangs dribble drive, spin, baby hook, how’d that go in game was legendary

Agree - most of our historic 3pt shooters needed to take higher difficulty shots because they were small and had to move around to get space. And we’ve had some truly great ones- Willoughby and Sullivan may be at the top of the list for me? Along with McGee and CuJo

But Milan’s shot and his ability to get it off due to height will make him lots of money at the next level. Niang was serviceable at ISU but made huge leaps in his quick release and accuracy to fill that role in the NBA. Milan should be a plug-in floor spacer immediately

Sullivan was great at getting his shot off for a shorter guy without any hops to speak of. His release was crazy-fast.

Frankly I’m not worried about his draft position, he won’t be an all star but he has a high floor and he could go to any team and get minutes as a floor spacer. He could easily make $100 million plus over his career just filling that role

Agreed. Just saw a lot of people thinking he will be a lottery pick. I think the only potential lottery pick on this team is Toure (not this year either) and that’s not even close to a sure thing.

Adapting to the NBA.
Milan will do so, much moreso than the aforementioned.
For those that haven't noticed, his d has vastly improved
