So we can't question Pollard on here anymore?

I am continually amazed by the lack of critical thinking here. Carry on with your unbridled praise. Guess I'm not a true fan. Hope TJ just decides to stick around forever because we're all super great sports fans.
I'm not one to often dumb someone's post, but Jesus dude, the bolded is the cliche of people who think they are smarter than everyone else. As @NorthCyd and @bellzisu pointed out the teams in general are performing great.

Brent walked a lot back a few weeks ago, but not everything. If Pollard is behind the times on NIL to the point that other coaches want out, serious conversations need to be had.

Seems to me Pollard is doing a good job considering the circumstances. He has also done a good job improving athletic programs, facilities, etc. across the board throughout his tenure.

I'm also open to listen to constructive criticism, but every thread hating on Pollard seems like it's just a troll or OP has ulterior motives.

What AD is ahead on Nil? The ones with schools have a lot more money? Its like comparing CEOs of companies based on money they generate.

Maybe at the end of the day these things all ring true:

Pollard is really good at many important aspects of his job and has done very well during his tenure at Ames (Remember Van De Velde...don't call me Bruce)

He introduced Rogers at the wrong time while those kids were still hurting....wait until the next morning regardless of what is leaked via twitter etc.

He needs to be a little more willing to be a little more progressive with NIL

And on note thats been mentioned a million times: Sell alcohol at games.

I’d be more worried about schools offering to double our coaches salary vs JP’s position on NIL. Convenient talking point by Campbell.

‘Behind the times’ and podsters’ line ‘be more creative’— what exactly does this mean?

The teams are performing great. How can we make sure that continues? Doesn't that make our coaches more attractive elsewhere? If there are things we can do to retain them - and I don't know what all those things are - shouldn't we try? Or do we just assume all is well, nothing to see here? Do you ever ask questions about things or just plod cluelessly forward in life? Must be nice and easy. Stress free I guess. Jesus dude.

Where, specifically? Quote it.

Carry on with your unbridled praise.

Again, where is the praise unbridled?

Sorry, but that's not an accurate interpretation of what's been said here.

As for sarcasm, I refer you to John Knowles.

Let’s see, the men’s basketball program is currently in its best shape ever and is ranked 3rd in the nation and undefeated. The football program is currently on the best 10 year stretch in history. The women’s basketball program is currently ranked in the top 10 and undefeated with as of right now, the national player of the year on its roster and the wrestling program is back to being relevant again. The only sports that matter and in reality, only two sports matter(men’s basketball and football). The programs are doing all of this with less money than every school in the Big ten and SEC. Not to mention the non Big ten and SEC schools that have big donors(Duke, North Carolina, Miami, etc). ISU competing in the top of all those sports, but then we have dumb ***** like the OP calling for the head of the AD for failing at his job. Jamie Pollard continues to prove over and over, that he is one of, if not the best AD in college sports by keeping ISU at the top without the top resources. The irony of this jack ass is that he calls out people for not having critical thinking skills when he’s the one who has none. What a ******* stupid post, by a clueless moron.

Are you really stupid enough to believe he isn't trying? JFC.

To be fair, most people don't understand exactly how it works. But even those that know best have questioned how it's being handled, and this is where I draw my conclusions from. I'm not saying I know what's best, or that we should handle it another way. It does seem that the way we are handling it is not how most others schools are, and we are adapting slower to this new era.
I think that’s fair, but it’s also tough when what exactly the issues are keeps changing (or at least in the beginning, maybe it’s been clearer since Rogers was hired). First it was that Pollard hoarded all the NIL money and decided how all NIL money was spent by each team and there was no flexibility. Then it was walked back to no, he does have all the nil money go into one central pot, and he divides it to the different programs, but that’s just until we reach the revenue sharing limit and once he gives it to the coaches they can use it how they want.
Cheznik leaving and rhoads somehow losing to ksu in 2015 when leading by multiple touchdowns
You could probably just say the entire Rhoads leaving saga

Jamie is generally an ok athletic director, but the cult following around here is probably the most toxic part about this fanbase. He's imperfect, but calling him as such is sacrilege in these parts.
Being critical of Pollard happens a lot and is tolerated just fine. I don't agree with the thread the op is discussing being deleted, but it said Pollard should be fired which is utterly ridiculous and deserves being heavily mocked as does anyone defending that take.

Not a troll. Pollard has done good things, no doubt. He has also been passed by with his feet in cement by the modern world of college athletics. It is OK to discuss what this has done to our major programs. It is also OK to wonder why we're using NIL funds for non-revenue generating sports at the expense of football and basketball; why no one can question his supreme control; why the fans better believe everything he says; why outgoing coaches throw him a bone and most assume that means they loved working with him (just like some politicians); and why his most recent coaching search was done to "preserve continuity" and obviously did nothing of the sort; and why our student-athletes don't trust a word he says. It is OK to question all of these things while recognizing he has done good for ISU.
The very questions you ask illustrate how little you do know and perhaps some digging might help you out…or actually posing questions without sounding like a hostile troll whose mind is already made up.

The only criticism I've seen lately that may have some merit is the alcohol sales in the stadium thing (since I'm pretty sure most Big 12 schools do it at this point), but I see Jamie's perspective.

I don't feel strongly about that because I would just get premium seating if that was important to me, but I see how the AD might be missing out on extra money.
