Big 12 Buzz: Rocco Out, Dillingham Staying, CFP Mess

I genuinely enjoy your content and appreciate everything you do for the fan base. I also agree it’s too much to be calling names or expressing ill will towards Rocco or these other guys leaving.

But i - and probably a lot of others here - take exception to saying he’s an “Iowa State guy”. He’s not anymore.

Does that make him a bad person? No. Does that mean he wasn’t a great representative of our University while he was here? Absolutely not - he’s probably an all time great in that regard.

But he made a decision to move on. One that was rightfully his to make. So be it.

But the continued gushing over these guys in their way out the door is getting old. Quickly.

Can we maybe write about a guy like Moberly that decided to stay or get an interview with one of the incoming coaches? It’s just time to move forward.

Exactly. Your ex-wife decided to show you divorce papers and hook up with a hotter guy with more money. You can still enjoy the times you had together but she made her decision and it's time to move on and cut off. It's time to enjoy the nice, new girlfriend you have now who actually chose you.

If the CF staff wants to keep praising the ones who leave, they are going to cut down the people who read and listen to their stuff. Fans are ready to move on, it’s time for them to also.

I totally agree. I think it’s fair to state it a couple of times. But it’s getting old and causing a lot of people to question the credibility and authenticity of what is being reported.

This is not to mention some of the backtracking and the hypocrisy we’ve seen.

Personally, I’m totally fine with them walking the tight rope between “journalist” and “voice of the fan”. But when it’s no longer pure journalism and the “fan” part is more about exiting players and coaches than it is ISU it’s going to alienate followers (I.e. customers).

Arguing that we should keep supporting a player after he enters the portal is the most cringe of cringe takes. If we aren’t going to be “fanatic” about the Cyclones, let’s at least try to have an ounce of objectivity. Or self-respect.

A transactional, employer/employee relationship has ended.

Great employee while he was here. No longer here. Turn in your ID badge, clean out your desk, and go.

Maybe we'll check your LinkedIn a few months or years from now to see how your story went.

But I don't get weekly updates on former employees in my professional life. Don't need it now.

Maybe CycloneFanatic is also entering the transfer portal to sign with Penn State?

This is lazy *** writing. Tulane didn't backdoor into anything, they tied for 1st in their conference, won the tier breaker and then won their CCG.

Kind of funny also where you left out the fact they beat 2 Power 4 teams and focused solely on their Ole Miss loss.

The sorry part is college sports is now professional. No more (limited) 4 year players that truly bled Cardinal and Gold. Not sure I want to be part of it anymore.

It's worse than professional at the moment actually. Hope they fix it.

Regardless, I'll still go to Cyclone games and watch the Big 12 as I'm able (as long as they don't jack up ticket prices).
