So I'm confused. You asked originally which is worse, transferring or leaving early for the NFL.

It seems like you think leaving early for the NFL is worse, except in certain circumstances like going to Iowa or a Big12 school? And you haven't actually said going you think leaving early for the NFL is worse.
i posed a question

With discussion.

If you feel there are absolutes, then good for you.

I am saying, Matt Campbell leaving changes the dynamics and I’m giving a pass to players regardless and it is on a very similar level as not being Forever and True leaving early for the NFL.

Let’s remember,

NONE If these players would transfer if Matt didn’t leave. At least non of the high profile players.

Comparing football players transferring to a wife leaving a husband is comical.
So, the husband who plays a game with the neighbor's wife, only did it after his wife took a different "position" with another "team"?

How long until they bring back either having to sit a year when transferring? Or limit to 1 transfer? I doubt they limit transfers, but i wish they would make them sit a year
I wish it was one unrestricted transfer after eligibility has been used, unless the coach leaves. Coach leaving gives a free pass to consider options. Plus, then players that come in, redshirt as freshman and realize they chose poorly could transfer without penalty.

This one is just weird to me because from my non-biased ISU perspective, this LB room was atrocious and I felt probably wouldn't play at most, if any, P5 schools outside of Iowa State.

Then I got to thinking, I wonder if it's scheme related. Rogers LB's at Wazzu were typically slightly shorter and slightly lighter than our LBs last year. Now that we are going to a 4 man front, I wonder if the idea will be to try and trade off a little more weight for a little more speed.
Usually when a team has slightly shorter and slightly lighter LB's is because they are unable to sign taller and bigger LB's, just a thought.

So, you didnt understand the point, and it was supposed to be a comical exaggeration.

Doesnt mean I have to be happy they are leaving.

Doesnt mean anyone has to cheer for them moving forward.

I was a Cyclone fan long before they came, I will be a Cyclone fan long after they leave. Why should I hope they go have success somewhere else? I hope the worst decision of their life was leaving ISU. Why would I want more people to say see how bad ISU held these players down, see how ISU couldnt compete to keep these players, see how ISU is broke and cant afford to keep them, see how ISU is not good enough to keep them etc etc. Why would I want them to prove that leaving ISU was a great thing and show other players that moving on is better than staying. I want them to be the example of what NOT to do for other players, I want them to show other players moving on to somewhere else that the pasture looks greener, turns out is actually brown, dead and covered in cow ****.

I have been loyal to ISU since I was old enough to know what ISU was, why should I root for someone whos loyalty was shorter than whats in my pants.

That being said, these coaches and players all but cease to exist the day they turn their back on ISU, for me. So hoping they fall on their faces last about as long as it takes to write their BS Tweet about how much they love ISU, but are leaving. I waste no more time on them than saying good for them, they get paid, I hop they fall in a pile of ****, good riddance, now on to the next one. They dont consume another minute of my time, thoughts or cares from that point forward. I wont bother looking them up again.

If you leave one sales job for a bigger sales job and make $1.5 million more for ONE YEAR and compete against your former colleagues and company, what’s the difference?
That doesnt mean your former collogues will hope the best for you, and hope you take all their business with you so they lose their asses.

Good for you if that happens. Good for Campbell, Good for Rocco, Good for Cooper. Doesnt mean I have to cheer for them or even hope they succeed.

I dont necessarily fault them for cashing that check, it is the way it is now. That doesnt mean I have to give 2 ***** about them from now on.

Why would he leave ISU? He’s an Iowa kid right? Walk on who grew into a starter.
My initial reaction was the same as yours.

Second thought is I understand him leaving. Probably not an NFL guy, and he is on record saying how much he appreciates Campbell for giving him a shot as a walk-on and later rewarding a scholarship. Makes a lot of sense that he would go to PSU for considerably more money in his last year to play for the coach he loves.

Have a parent of a player telling me it's a mix of no money and lack of buy in to the next staff. From what he says, returning players wouldn't be getting a pay bump and any remaining funds are being pushed down the road. So it sounds like we're taking our lumps now and going to try to catch some big fish for next year. Pollards line of thinking is he's not going all in on the team financially until he feels it's competitive. Wants flexibility.

See I don't get that line of thinking. If my coach bailed on me I'd be pissed at him. No way in hell I'd want to follow him after he proved himself to be a hypocrite.
I've been asking similar question since Day 1.

That said, a lot of these guys are not going to Penn State. You've got to remember that (which I know you know).

what if Coach Rogers told a player he doesn’t fit in the new system?

It’s such a cluster F so I get it.

But in this day and age and landscape of CFB, it’s just the way it is.

And I don’t like it either.
