Because of the head to head. This board loves wrapping the tinfoil around but it was pretty straight forward

Because they want Notre Dame in a conference. Basically. I think the SEC's commish would've have burned down the NCAA and started an SEC/Big Ten only league if Bama wasn't put in. Miami beat Notre Dame so there is that. Bama just isn't very good. BYU should've been in over Bama.
Even with the head-to-head I think the case for ND is stronger than some decisions of the past.
They want the benefits of being in a conference without any of the costs, f*ck'em.

ESPN owns the playoff and is fully invested in the ACC from a media perspective. ND's regular season does nothing for them since their deal is with NBC. It's about taking care of your own. It's also a shot across the ND bow to suggest that being all in on a conference like the ACC has its benefits.
Same record and you have to have the head to head count. The only mistake was not having them raked that way the week before

So, the Big XII should offer full membership with ND keeping NBC money for home games with no money for road games until the two contracts run out or suggest a renegotiation with the current TV partners + NBC which would be GREAT for all parties. I have NO issues with ND in the Conference as a FULL member with both sides being flexible about the current TV contracts.
Since adding Cinnci and BYU (to TCU and Baylor) the B12 may at least get a motion for consideration before being rejected.
They have a huge national fanbase. They are the most popular college sports program in Chicago and NYC (I think. Not doing the research.).

I didn't even realize Alabama got in lol. What a joke. At any rate, there is no doubt in my mind that the ACC played their part in wedging Miami in there above Notre Dame and would have acted differently if ND was a full member. Either way, I'd take ND to the Big 12 in a heartbeat.

The committee has screwed themselves by committing to not knocking teams out due to championship games. It’s extremely stupid but I get why they are doing it. It’s why SMU got in and why bama got in this year. Not a fan of it
