Matt Campbell to Penn State??

I believe Blum posted earlier that 10k people donated to we will. Think about that, on a typical saturday in jack trice, 5/6th of the people in that stadium contributed $0.

But this isn't about the middle class and doing the math on "if X people only gave Y dollars we'd be...."

Its about having a fan base with ridiculously large sums of money - people who have 9/10 figure net worths and wouldn't even blink at spending $5-10 million in a month. That's BYU, that's TTech, that's most Big10/SEC schools. Its like everyone has 10 or 20 or 50 Sukup families that are diehard fans.

FOUR guys at SMU each decided they were good for $60m and a few years later they're in the ACC.
We Will and the athletic department are two completely different draws. I choose to make my donations directly to athletics. If I donate to We Will that reduces what I give to athletics. I suspect many people in the stadium are just like me. You have an amount available to donate. Period.

Penn State fans obviously with sketch sources, unless CMC suddenly got an agent?
Just additional proof that anyone can say anything, but it doesn't make it true. Heck, scammers feast on this very model. I should know... I'm a prince from Morocco

I think that the main reason he is looking is that he and the other major program coaches (FB,MBB,WBB) are not happy with the University's/AD NIL strategy. If Cambpell leaves for Penn State it is due to the administration not willing to fund NIL above the revenue share.
You mean can't fund it beyond rev share because there is no money for it. A power struggle is going on behind the scenes today. Expect decision by tonight.

Whatever he decides I will wish him well and have no animosity. I can't imagine trying to traverse these waters right now. Throw in trying to do what is best for your family and having the tenacity and desire to be elite... I can't imagine what is going through his head. My only hope is that he values the quiet life of Ames/Gilbert and not being hounded by reporters/people constantly in his daily life. I think he's shown time and time again he's a family man and I think that is our best hope of keeping him.

This is exactly correct. Just now a Michigan State donor donated $401 Million dollars, $290 million of which is going to the athletic department and $100 million to a NIL initiative. I can't imagine having this much money, let alone choosing to donate it to an athletic program.

For reference the Ivy family donated $50 million to the college of business and that was enough to rename it in their honor.

Correct. Why people, even Big 12 fans keep repeating the falsehood that moving to the Big 10 is why Nebraska sucks makes no sense.

Conference records:
Last four years of the Big 12: 19-13
First four years of the Big 10: 22-10

Their schedule got weaker while media thinking it was stronger. Their recruiting ticked up until eventually their sucking caught up with them. They started making way more money.

The move to the big 10 was great for Nebraska. They simply started hiring bad coaches after they canned Pelini. Nothing more, nothing less.

Agree, Iowa State had caught Nebraska in the Big 12 and ISU wasn’t even a good program yet compared to past few years.

I mean…geez, imagine if there was the same passion for curing pediatric cancer…or Parkinson’s…or ALS. I’m still not interested in making people feel guilty about how they donate.

Besides, everyone is assuming it’s about money. What has Matt ever done to make you think money is his number one focus? If he were to leave, maybe it’s just for a change of scenery, to fulfill other goals, or take on a new challenge. I mean, I’d listen if someone came to me and offered me a job. I’m pretty happy with where I work and what I make, but it’s not like I wouldn’t entertain another opportunity…
