Did anyone else go to the new Wicked movie this weekend? What was your thoughts?

I took my wife. I thought it was good but I also have never seen the musical or knew anything about it before watching Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is better but its not like Part 2 stunk.

I actually the musical version my wife and I saw several years ago.
That said, the wicked witch was evil and was killed. End of story.

Same. I never knew the story before the movies. Only thing, I thought the movie had too many ending scenes...just when you thought it was over...another scene....and another scene...and no, this is the final scene, wait there is still one more scene.

Great movie making and a clever story.

My better half and myself volunteer at the local Bijou. Hadn't seen Part I, but anyone who knows the classic film - like us - can easily catch on.

Thought skeezy old Jeff Goldblum wasn't terrible as the Wizard.

Not enamored of anyone else in the film. Then again, I am not one for Broadway musical glitz. Just the luck of the draw that I saw this one.

It's a nice movie to go see with your tweenage daughter/son or grand-daughter/son, though, if they want to see it.

Hard pass. Won't be seeing this franchise.

Meh. Not like I had to pay any money to see it.

Have to say, I don't like most of the Marvelesque shlock crap either, exceptions being Venom 3 and the last Guardians of the Galaxy, in that genre.

I do wanna say that the best movie I've seen during my volunteer gig has been "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile". Hilarious. (and no, Wicked is no Lyle, Lyle)

I really liked it. I've seen the musical a few times, and was generally pleased with Part 1.

I don't agree with making it 2 movies and the resultant fluffing they had to do. But the new things weren't terrible.

I've seen worse movie musicals than this.

There's really only one scene added to the end that the musical doesn't have, IIRC.

One of the best musical adaptations to the screen IMO. I wasn't thrilled when they announced Ariana Grande as Glinda but I thought she knocked it out of the park. I wasn't as impressed with who the Fiero casting for the movie. Not horrible but just didn't buy him really.

Only real criticism would be the songs they added that weren't in the Broadway version were pretty underwhelming. All of the Broadway songs are full of life and power and really add to the story through the lyrics. The ones they added didn't really do anything IMO.
