There is track speed and then there is “game” speed just like how some players don’t look as good at practice but when the lights go on, they play at a higher level. Aiden shows extra juice when given a shot, I’d like to see him used more in the backfield particularly out in the flat with a short pass while one on one with a LB. Abu may be faster but for whatever reason Abu has the ability to make the wrong cut and pick the hole that is closing.

Off topic (norm for CF) but this post made me think of Ryver Peppers. Any information of his injury (beside gone for season) come out? If I am thinking of the correct play, it appeared he was injured in a non-contact play?

I hope he gets a scholarship next year. He has played well as a returner and become a decent weapon out of the backfield or as a receiver too.
I'm wondering if he couldn't be put on scholarship for 2nd semester of this academic year.

Pretty sure he tore his Achilles. I don't remember where I saw that though, might have just been speculation.

Agree. I’d love to see Mouse get him the field as a backup back or slot guy. Really think he could be a difference maker.

The larger question here is why is he not involved more (or at all from what I see..) in the offense?? Why are we not using that speed and athleticism throughout the game and not just on special teams?

Probably the same reason Eli Green isn't heard from until we absolutely need it - no one knows.

He was injured early, hamstring maybe? He was targeted a couple times out of the backfield but they were absolute rockets to try and catch.

Would love to see Green get some of Sowell’s snaps.
Me too. I was a Sowell believer for like 2 weeks before the wheels came off, and boy was I proven wrong on that one. I bought in after the AZ game... woofta.

Find anyone on the roster who can reliably catch a ball and give them snaps. Then in the offseason, that entire position group is wide open to any challenger from anywhere. Start over, complete room rebuild.

Hands probably aren't good enough to take advantage of the speed and athleticism, though the bar is set pretty low in the receiving corps. He had a few drops at key moments during the 4 game skid.

He's fast, but it's his elusiveness and vision that make him such a threat. The two subtle moves to get out of the wash and into the open field were incredible. Good feet. I'd like to see him get involved on offense.

Now that you mention it what happened to Dom Overby? I think he played in 4 games and had 2 TD’s, redshirted last year. His bio is very impressive in Utah HS track.

Appears to not have seen a target since the Cincy game. Don't know if that is hurt, or benched, or what.
