Further proof that “slam dunk” hires often don’t work either. It’s a crapshoot.

Yep, it makes so little sense even for the big dogs to spend so much on the flashy hires and paying buyouts to other schools. Seems like the best option is to go grab some up and coming g5 coach or p5 coordinator at a lower rate, put the extra into NIL, and re-roll for a new coach in 4 years if it doesn't work out.

That’s the way to do it, but boosters must not see it that way.

Wisconsin AD has given the staff the vote of confidence. Seems line they may go one more year. Unless they decide to get rid of the AD

Could be right but honestly says more about Wisconsin’s financial situation then anything else, feel bad for their fans

They've also got a killer schedule next year (Notre Dame, Pitt, at Iowa, at Penn State, USC, at UCLA). They may be letting him take the bullets so the new guy has an easier road in 2027 (Pitt in Dublin, as USC, Penn State).
