For your situational awareness, even if the Cyclones win out and go 9-3, they are unlikely to make the Alamo Bowl like some of the dream scenarios I’ve seen. Non-heritage PAC 12 schools are eligible. BYU / Cinnci / Tech / Houston are all in play.

We will fall to Liberty Bowl or worse. Not going to Pop Tarts 2 straight years.

They’re cooked. They’re going to be lucky to win another game the rest of the season. Even if they squeak out one more win, the excitement is completely gone.

Yeah Alamo would much rather take a Texas team anyways. Not sure they’d take BYU twice in a row.

Either way, bowl season won’t matter too much. I think our fanbase just won’t show up for a Liberty bowl or worse.

All of the high goals are unattainable now. The team can play loose now and try different things. I’m not so concerned about W-L but rather finding something for the future. Things I’d like to see for November

1) play action pass. The running game looked good with Hansen back. We do some read option plays, but no real true play action passes

2) experiment with different defensive formations. With the injuries in the secondary, it’s clear the 3-3-5 isn’t working with this group of players.

3) when a punt is in the air, everyone run to the sidelines. Ok, this is a joke, but I’m tired of these punt fiascos

It is frustrating, this is "supposed" to be our identity (but has been a struggle for a while), but we're terrible in the margins, and have been for a while.
This program under CMC has never been a program that felt like it has won in the margins with consistency, even with all of the success we have had. It is honestly the most frustrating thing for me with this regime. We preach a ton about it, but we consistently and repeatedly make some of the most boneheaded mistakes. It just doesn't add up.

The staff recruits and develops talent well, but the game-planning, adjustments, and X’s and O’s just aren’t there. Fundamentals are a real problem — guys don’t wrap up when tackling, don’t seem to understand game situations, and make constant mental mistakes.

Put me down for 6-6, but 5-7 is a real possibility.
Have you looked at the last 2-4 year class rankings? They have been in the 40's - 60's. Considering the talent level I feel the coaches have been doing a pretty good job developing players all things considered.

We have 11 turnovers in 8 games (5 lost fumbles, 6 interceptions). 4 were yesterday. 2 of the fumbles are on special teams snafu touching the ball.

The home crowd will be necessary to win anything and if they get to the KU game with a string of five losses…Trice will be a ghost town. My vote has shifted to 6-6 with a small prayer of making 7-5. In either case it means getting a “we suck” bowl game that won’t draw a crowd either.

There's some truth to 3). Just watching ASU last night, what did they do on punts? Send everyone on pressures and fair catch the kick with no help.

We could do that tomorrow just fine and have avoided multiple turnovers this season doing so had we started sooner. Instead, we continue to let what is most likely the worst special teams unit in the league keep making asinine mistakes.

1) send everyone
2) fair catch every ball

Injuries to All of the kickers is still impacting the game. Getting killed on field position
Maybe we should try and return a kickoff. Guess they don't trust the guys to pay attention to the details to do it successfully. We have to lead the nation in fewest return yards.

I think the weather, team crapping the bed and the KU game being the weekend of Thanksgiving is going to contribute to it being a ghost town. I think 6-6 is going to be a struggle at this point. Honestly, I can’t blame fans for not wanting to go to Shreveport or Memphis (for the 300th time it seems like) in this economy with the team playing the way they are.

When the ball is kicked 6 yards into the end zone, such as yesterday, you take the touchback every time

I'm now saying 7-5, hoping for Kansas and Oklahoma State. I honestly have no idea how good TCU is this year and ASU might be as good as their QB is.

Leipold's tenure at KU is unravelling and despite past performances that would be a disappointing one to drop. And Oklahoma State isn't even a real football team this season.
