2025-26 Lineup

National Duals is Nov 15-16th.. CLKV is first weekend in December I think ?
You might be right. These days, teams typically only do 1 major event in the first half of the season (if that PSU). I still expect national duals to impact the entries at CKLV.

Carson Floyd - National qualifier last year for App State and a three year starter for them at 197 - joins the Cyclones.
Interesting add. I guess he's happy to be the guy filling in all the time while Rocky is on a pitch count and backup plan should there be an injury there?

Also looks like he never redshirted at App State, so he could do that in theory as well.

Sounds like he is redshirting says on his instagram he’s set to graduate 27

Things are going to start to get interesting if the NCAA does indeed approve the 5 years for 5 post seasons like expected.

No more redshirts. Merrill is coming in next year to compete with Herrera right away. Guys won’t be able to go to Penn state, Iowa, and Oklahoma state and use a redshirt to strategically piece together a lineup.

I guess I’m in the weeds here, they are trying to get rid of redshirts?

Sounds like it's headed toward 5 years of competition in 5 years. No more redshirts, medical redshirts or other waivers.
Man I don’t know how I like that. Can’t I imagine getting hurt at the beginning of your 5th and your college career is just over there.

Wow that will be a huge deal like you said. Be interesting to see how it shakes out.
This will relieve some of the logjams that come with having 6th & 7 year guys. I think it's fair and a lot of college athletes take 5 years to get a degree given their heavy practice schedules. I like it although I think a 5 year window with 4 year of competition provides more opportunities overall.

Absolutely agree with getting some of these 6th year guys out. This should be the last year we get to see 7th year guys?

I do think it’s lot simpler. I feel like there will be no question anymore with dudes getting hurt and waiting to see if the get a med redshirt or not.

If someone graduated high school in 2020

20-21: true freshman but didn’t count
21-22: true freshman (rs year)
22-23: rs freshman
23-24: rs soph
24-25: rs jr
25-26: rs sr
Factor in Olympic redshirts from 23-24 and/or medical redshirts and there could be a few stragglers as late as the 27-28 year. I guess we could also see Oly RSs in 27-28 year, though how many would be repeats has to be slim I’d think. On paper, these older guys are wiser and more experienced but also more beat up physically, especially in sports like wrestling and football.

Are Olympic Redshirts still going to be available?
According to this they would still be available and possibly medical
