Apparently with full support of Neil's family. No word on who drummer will be. Not sure how I feel about this. To me, it's really not Rush without any of them.

Maybe they'll do something cool and have a hologram of Neil on the kit? I don't know. Just spitballing.

The new drummer will be Anika Nilles.

From Geddy:

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we ******* miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music. So in 2026, my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.

Yet life is full of surprises, and we have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated RUSH fanbase, whom, we know, will give her every chance to live up to that near impossible role. Before we hit the stage, we also hope to add another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps.

Lerxst, Anika and myself, along with many of our longstanding crew members have been hard at work rehearsing and designing the kind of RUSH show you’ve grown accustomed to expect from us. We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate our history together.”

The Trailer Park boys are awesome!

I'm all for Geddy and Alex continuing to perform together.

But it isn't "Rush" in full measure without Neil.

Same idea with a hypothetical like George, Paul, and Ringo going on tour in the 90s as the "Beatles" with a second guitarist -- even a supremely qualified one like an Eric Clapton.

Just isn't *them* without the full lineup.

A lot of bands can do it without the original drummer. However, Neil is so good I agree with you. Still if you are a Rush fan this is a gonna be a good show for sure. I am not so much a Rush fan. Althought Tom Sawyer has one of the best air drum solo's for me in my car in history.

I agree with you it depends on how "essential" a member was to their sound.

Oasis can pick up a new drummer and just "go."

Long as you've got Liam and Noel and some infighting... you're good to go.

But Rush isn't Rush without Neil. His drumming and lyrics... foundational to everything about them.

Still. Hard to find any real "fault" here. Just glad to see Alex and Geddy are continuing onwards.

Hardly the first to go out without the full band or important pieces. Good for them for doing what they love and for the fans who want to see it in person again.

My husband is hellbent on seeing them in Chicago since he couldn't see them on the "final" tour.

I wouldn't be surprised at tree-fitty in the nosebleeds at UC for one ticket.

Those shows will sell out and tickets definitely won’t be cheap. I always look for presale codes and buy as soon as they go live.

Five double shows. Interesting. All with a day in between to rest? Glad to see Fort Worth is one of their stops. First time I saw them was in Veterans Auditorium in 1982. I agree it won't be the same without Neil, but I plan on trying to see them.

That’s a schedule you’d put together if your primary motivation was getting out and playing is because that’s what you love doing.

Good for them.
