That’s MOC-Floyd Valley HS gear. Despite being a pretty big ag area there’s a lot of hawk fans up there. What is going on with the purple attire? What is that? Not UNI, right? They certainly weren’t cheering for ISU.
Over Labor Day weekend, there was a house fire in that community that killed 3 teenagers and left 1 with severe injuries (last I knew) https://www.kjan.com/index.php/2025/09/three-people-have-died-following-a-northwest-iowa-house-fire/. I'm guessing the purple was a way for them to feel they were showing support for their community as they navigate this tragic situation. That’s MOC-Floyd Valley HS gear. Hillsides just unique and a great option for anyone with young kids. Never forget the concourse before the remodel how ever many years ago, it's 10x better than plenty of stadiums I've been too.I was surprised that he loved the hillside part of the stadium. He also appreciated the design of the concourse, which I don't necessarily think is big enough.
my favorite quote:
"the only roasting of the tailgating experience is the food, because it smells delicious!"
Obviously, that's not just an Iowa State issue, that is ALL of college football now. These breaks are often 3 minutes and I have seen 4 minutes when Nebraska played Cincinatti. His biggest complaint was the TV timeouts being too long (blaming the TV networks). Completely agree on this issue. Just too much down time for fans.
The concourse issue I saw last Saturday was that seemingly about 99% of the people coming out of the seats on the east side wanted to go out the east gate or the bridge. Whereas I needed to go south and out the south gate. So Mrs. Larry and I were two of about 12 people trying to go south while 2,000 people were crammed up against us trying to go north to get to the bridge. But of course getting out of the stadium is always going to be the most difficult when the game is decided in the last minute. So, I'm not complaining really, it was worth every second I spent inside JTS!!Hillsides just unique and a great option for anyone with young kids. I took my boys to their first game in Ames (South Dakota game). It was the first time I had been back since 2015 (first game after SEZ was built). The regrading of the north hillsides and the concourse on that end as well are such a big change. Huge upgrade especially coupled with the south endzone.Hillsides just unique and a great option for anyone with young kids. Yep, and it's only going to get worse. Fox added additional time this season. Hard to believe they wont keep adding as the years go on.His biggest complaint was the TV timeouts being too long (blaming the TV networks). Completely agree on this issue. Just too much down time for fans.
Mine must have been 2014 then, because they were working on the SEZ then. Every year I say I will go to a game but haven't made it yet. I keep saying I need to see it since they enclosed the SEZ. Prior to that, I have been to far too many games that went the wrong way so almost feel like I'm a jinx.I took my boys to their first game in Ames (South Dakota game).
