Big 12 vs Big Ten Debate

Oh no the blogs called for it!?! My god I forgot the blogs are gospel!

If ESPN wanted the big12 dead then they by are they paying for part of your current media deal? Same for Fox. No one is forcing them to pay the big12, that’s where this whole conspiracy just immediately falls apart. I know it’s easy (and super common) in the modern world to think that every bad thing that happens is the result of some shadow powerful entity working directly against you but that is so rarely true. If espn and Fox wanted you dead all they had to do was not bid on the media rights. No forcing to the AAC or anything else that is a popular blog post theory. They simply had to not buy the media rights.
They were quoting UT unnamed personnel

NFL has parity due to a salary cap and more importantly the draft. Do you see either being implemented in college?

The fans of the top teams right now that we hold as blue bloods don’t want parity, they want every advantage possible so that they can continue to win and be blue bloods.

In your world you think OSU fans will be happy having a couple winning seasons then being bottom tier for years when instead they could just maintain the current status quo and be a powerhouse year after year?

Pretty easy answer.
If it triples their money? Absolutely

Oh wow a blog quoting annon sources, that’s rock solid lol

Think about the number of people during the last realignment who did the exact same thing and weren’t even in the same universe from what actually happened

To do what. It’s not a business, there aren’t shareholders. If everyone’s money triples no one’s does and it’s the exact same thing.
Then why doesn’t MSU move to the sun belt and destroy everyone there if winning is more important than money?

How much straw did you gather for that straw man? Legit couldn’t be more off topic.
So OSU doesn’t want to triple their money and do a super league because they want to win. Yet no one’s willing to leave the big 10 to win more? Seems simple, because money rules the sport

Not at all man you’re so off base. It’s why the super league won’t form is that they want to not only win but to press their advantages to keep winning.

No one has ever talked once about taking a step down, that’s your straw man, something totally made up that no one has discussed.

Again none of the blue bloods want a league of peers.

So they don’t want to triple their money? Got it, makes complete sense. Thank you for coming by and educating us

Also, using only your logic bolded above, can you explain to us why Texas and OU left the B12? They had everything you said….

Was Texas winning the big12? Nope.

Also again, they left for something that already exists, that is so much different then forming a 20 team super league. Thats the whole point. There are a bunch of reasons why such a league isn’t happening in the next decade but losing every advantage is one of them.

Even in the SEC OUT still currently has a ton of advantages, although I can see OU regretting that decision very soon if they continue their spiral

Bowlsby had some dirt on ESPN that they had not be negotiating with the league in good faith on a contract extension, instead they had been working with a way to move UT and OU to the SEC. What that dirt was, emails or people in the know, he had enough to get ESPN to bid on a new contract for the league. It was mostly likely cheaper for ESPN to do that, then face the lawsuit they were looking at by not negotiation in good faith. Part of the deal was allowing the two schools to move. Remember it was ESPN pushing a deal to merge the league with the AAC, after it was picked over.

Ok gonna agree to disagree on this one. You’re just not gonna see it. If you want to be bet a we will donation I’m happy to do so that we won’t see a 20 team super league in the next 6 years

Make it 11 years and I’d take you up on it.

Though only on seeing a 20 team league.

You do understand that Bowlsby put an injunction on ESPN and the AAC don't you? and this was confirmed in interviews he has given since? And that this is why is he is affectionally known as Ballsby? Ballsby alleged to CBS Sports that ESPN "conspired" with the AAC to poach Big 12 members.
