It's early still and I was surprised they hired a guy with no HC experience but Freeman seems like a good coach, better than the revolving door of underachievers ND has had for most of my life. Brian Kelly had a good five-year run to close out his tenure but other than that, ND's best results since Lou Holtz have been a few 10-win seasons punctuated by bowl game losses.
Cristobol is a mid coach at best. Give Matt Campbell Miami's checkbook and you'd have a NC contender year in / year out.
edit: I forgot Kelly also went to the BCS Championship Game in his 3rd year. Followed it up with a pretty unremarkable five-year run though.

I think Kelly is a good coach with a poor personality. It’s a lot easier to recruit to LSU with that personality than ND with just the area you’re recruiting from. I think he’ll do well without the shadow of Saban.
Cristobal is a poor game coach. It’ll keep them from winning championships. But if the U alumni get involved, he’ll have unlimited resources to bring in talent. They’ll be in the top10 regularly, but will fall apart when the games get close.
Unless that QB is coming from FCS, has off season surgery and can't participate in spring or summer workouts. Than it is a sure thing.
This is nuts. Bama has lost 4 times to unranked teams in last 14 games. It took 235 games to accomplish that under Saban. Yet, they will still get CFP consideration because Bama and SEC.
Alabama is going to be FORTUNATE to finish 7-5 this year. There is absolutely no reason to gnash your teeth about Alabama as a possible CFP team. They have serious issues, and they are more likely to finish 2-10 than 10-2.
I think TCU should win this game and I’ll be disappointed if they don’t.
Got a couple more next week but TCU better win for the Big 12's early reputation.
Give him a break. It takes a lot to keep up with a 20’s sex life while your in your 60’s.
