An Iowa State football player has been suspended from the program indefinitely after being booked into the Story County jail for charges of sexual and domestic abuse.
Aidan Ralph, a redshirt sophomore linebacker from Chicago, was arrested Wednesday for charges stemming from a 2022 incident involving his girlfriend. The arrest was first reported by WHO-TV.
An Iowa State spokesman says Ralph has been suspended from all team activities indefinitely.
The criminal complaint says an argument between Ralph and the victim started when he accused the victim of cheating on him. The complaint says Ralph shoved the victim multiple times, including into a set of stairs, which caused a stress fracture in her spine. Police say Ralph admitted to shoving and injuring the victim.
The complaint alleges that the victim asked Ralph to call emergency services, and he declined. She proceeded to remove her pants in order to examine and relieve pressure on her injuries. Ralph allegedly then forced himself onto the victim and raped her.
The full, frankly sickening, details of the incident can be read here.
Ralph, who is listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, has not appeared in a game for Iowa State during his first two seasons with the program. He was a three-star recruit out of De La Salle in Chicago as a member of the 2021 recruiting class.
