Football Recruiting Roundup: Feb. 23, 2018

THE LATEST:

*** Iowa State will host 14 juniors on visits this weekend.  Four out of five commits for the 2019 class will be on campus and 13 of the 14 hold offers from the Cyclones.  Breakdown by state: Illinois 6, Iowa 5, Kansas 2 and Missouri 1.  Read Jared’s write up on the visitors here.

*** ISU has offers out to seven in-state prospects for 2017.  Two have committed to the Hawks and two have committed to the Cyclones.  Read more about the top 5 in-state prospects here.

OFFERS:

*** The first offer of the week went to tight end Luke Deal on Monday.  The South Carolina prospect holds Power-5 offers from Georgia, N.C. State, Auburn, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue and USC.

*** On Tuesday, ISU offered wide receiver Jase Bowen of Toledo, Ohio.  Bowen received offers from Kentucky and Cincinnati the same day, adding to previous offers from Minnesota and Toledo.

*** Tuesday’s second offer went to wide receiver Jaelyn Lay from Riverdale, Ga., which became his 11th Power-5 offer.

*** Texas cornerback Virdel Edwards II received an offer from Iowa State yesterday.  He holds offers from Colorado, Purdue and Louisiana-Monroe.

*** The second Cyclone offer from Thursday went to safety Connor Greico of Montvale, N.J. Greico holds offers from West Virginia, Rutgers, Syracuse, Buffalo and UMass.

*** Iowa State offered cornerback Josh DeBerry this morning.  The Michigan native holds offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Toledo, Miami (OH) and Eastern Michigan.

*** Thursday also included class of 2020 offers for two teammates from Detroit, MI.  RB Peny Boone and WR Rashawn Williams already hold a combined 13 P5 offers.

HIGH INTEREST:

*** Georgia WR Deshon Stoudemire released a top 9 via Twitter Wednesday evening which included the Cyclones.

*** Detroit ATH Jalen Graham named ISU and Kentucky as his top two schools.  He is hoping to make his decision before his senior season begins in August.
