Twister Sister observations

I didn't have an issue with the announcers other than one of them seemingly muffled some by a mask. From a non affiliated fan perspective this game was probably sort of boring being the rout it was. I know about ISU and am interested in what's up with the other team and their new coach which they covered along with talking a lot about our freshman. They rightfully kind of abandoned the Joens/Gray storyline when it became apparent that was not going to be the game determiner. They did miss explaining the calls when we had three consecutive turnovers, think that was in the 3rd. I was guessing they were illegal screens. Speculating that with everyone not a courtside it's harder to check with officials if you can't see the call. Also guessing that if this was ESPN2 and a notch higher on the production side that someone would have maybe looked but three point records for ISU since the threes where raining and the game was a rout. Only took me a minute or so to find the info on my laptop so when Kane hit her three I knew it was for the single game record.

I've never been a fan of super homer announcers, the kind that are more like cheerleaders and whine about every call. I think it's part of the reason the Twins lost me as a fan over the years. I got to where I couldn't stand listening to them. My favorite ISU WBB team is Blum and Molly, fair, objective, professional, knowledge.

In my opinion, the TV announcers were horrible. They seemed to just chatter without paying attention to what was going on on the court much of the time. For example, many times there would be a turnover with no explanation of why. On the play where Scott was hurt, why was that a turn over and not a foul on TT? I have watched the replay and still have no idea.
I had the same question, so watched it last night to see what happened and what a joke. The ref in front of the Tech bench called 3 seconds on Scott right before she got thrown to the floor. The only reason it was close to being 3 sec was Scott was fouled from behind that caused her not to get the shot off sooner. I might replay it again with a stop watch. By my count, should never have been called. Good thing it didn’t matter.

Hmmm...I watched it on ESPN+
