Apparently not.Real simple: wear a mask, but we don't need so many gosh darn rules to diminish needing it. Is that concise enough for you?
Let me get this straight. You responded to my opinion piece 'inferring' what I'd meant and ranted as to what I omitted. None of it relevant to the piece at all. I, playfully, replied without intent to cause friction. This, of course, was my only foolish move (ie going down your rabbit hole). You continued to degrade me and you have the gall to say I'm condescending. This conversation is over with. You've just been ignored.Apparently not.
But thank you for your condescension. Choose someone else to rant at, please.
I've been watching the **** out of lacrosse and rugby on YouTube...rugby I use to watch the club play as I had a buddy but never got into lacrosse but those two look fun.I've been watching the **** out of pro disc golf on YouTube throughout quarantine and I'm happy as can be. Maybe some people need to broaden their horizons and be somewhat flexible.
As someone that grew up playing several sports ultra competitively and is still playing the highest level of soccer I can, people that base their lives and value their lives around WATCHING a sport or sports is pretty sad.
Playing and watching sports are two of my favorite social activities and stress relievers. These past few months have been very isolating and stressful. Since it's likely difficult for me to have the testing and social bubble to play sports any time soon, I'm pretty anxious for sports on TV to come back. I guess it might be sad but it's the truth.
Until we play Baylor......there are no riots during football season
Unless the Eagles win the Super Bowl, but their fans are jackasses.there are no riots during football season
Lol, water tight bung hole.Let me get this straight. You responded to my opinion piece 'inferring' what I'd meant and ranted as to what I omitted. None of it relevant to the piece at all. Me too, please.Let me get this straight. You responded to my opinion piece 'inferring' what I'd meant and ranted as to what I omitted. None of it relevant to the piece at all. I think you hit on something here. There are so many things that are more important than sports. Yes, they're nice to watch or attend or play even. I watch ISU football when they're on TV and I just LOVE ISU basketball. I've been attending the Big 12 tournament since 1985. We decided just a couple days before this year's tournament to not attend as the team wasn't going to get past Wednesday night.I do agree that sports is a way to release and distract us from our lives. Many people can find ways to fill up their time without sports.
as a male in his mid 20s, my friends and I have joked around how boring our lives became when we didn’t have sports. Now we find ways to occupy the time spent without watching live sports. I started working out a lot, picked up mediation, and now with things opening up slowly we started camping a lot more. (Plus activism)
going back to the original point, without a doubt I almost think sports are sub consciously covering our eyes and ears to things that are not great for ourselves and the world and maybe even making us miss things that can be great. I do not believe sports are a bad thing. Heavens no, I cannot wait for hockey and the NBA to start up again.
However, I almost think this break from sports is a blessing in disguise. It gave every sports fans a second to look around and notice what is actually happening in their life. I’m guilty of this, my life was pretty much work, sports, and sleep.
This is just my opinion, but I think this break really woke up some Americans, or at least I hope it did.
