Senior Nationals This Weekend

Just watched Gomez's first-round match. He was down 4-2 when he hurt his knee. Was down for quite a while in obvious pain and surprised he continued. He got teched in short order after the injury. It was the opposite knee that he had a brace on.

Just to update the results.
Carr teched Spencer. Has Deakin in quarters.
Kyven is in the quarters against Schultz. Gets Snyder in the Semis if he wins
Parker lost to E.Henderson 10-8 in R16
Gomez hurt and defaulted out.

Carr beat Deakin in the Qtrs and lost to Massa in the Semis. Massa didn't take a shot the whole match and countered Carr's shot at the end to put David on his back.

Kyven pinned Shultz in the quarters and won by INJ over Snyder in the semis. Kyven was ahead 3-0 when Snyder hurt his ankle on a push out. Kyven got another TD and then Snyder defaulted. Excited for Kyven, but hope Snyder's injury is not serious.

Finally went back and watched some matches to catch up with the results.

I'm bummed Kyven wasn't able to cap off a great weekend with the title, but I thought he looked better than he has since college. He really seems to be putting in the work. A man on a mission. Kollin Moore is just his kryptonite right now. Moore and Zillmer are looking like some good young studs for the US going forward. They're very active, have good attacks, and keep solid positioning. That said, I think Kyven comes back next tourney (whatever that might be) looking even better and takes out Moore...Man, wish that Snyder match would have gone the distance. Kyven looked on fire there.

I love watching Parker grind guys into the ground. He did a great job too and I'm excited to watch him in the folkstyle season again.

Carr is always a good time. That kid is already elite and will just keep getting better. I love that he will try anything. The end of the Hidlay match was some fun action. Hidlay and Deakin are some very tough and very active dudes. Carr did a great job and will close that gap.

I hope Gomez is okay. I was looking forward to seeing him back in action. Being able to make weight for this tournament gives me hope he's doing well on his weight decent plan. I'd be curious to know what the scale read for his weigh-in. Still, 10 pounds to go, but likey 3 months to do so.
