I know we don't really have a horse in this race, but it's some great wrestling.

I caught most of the first RTC Cup dual on Flo between OHRTC and NJSE (Jersey and SE RTCs teamed up) and they were all good matches.

57 - Jack Mueller (OH) edged Nashon Garrett (NJSE) 6-4 - Tight match, good action from the bits I saw. Tied 4-4 in the last seconds and Mueller just edged Garrett at the end.

65 - James Green (NJSE) teched Echemendia (OH) 14-4 - The match was closer than the final score shows. I believe it was tied 4-4 in the last 30 seconds, Green hit a nice blast double into a lace, and took Echemendia for a ride. Looked like Echemendia may have tweaked his ankle trying to fight off the lace.

74 - Carson Kharchla (OH) beat Mekhi Lewis (NJSE) 9-2 - Very impressed with Kharchla. He seemed in control the whole match. He's young, patient, cagey, very slick. I'll be excited to see how he does in folk...just not if he wrestles any of our guys.

86 - Nate Jackson (NJSE) teched Sammy Brooks (OH) 12-2 - another tech that came in the last 30 seconds of the match. Sammy is a bruiser, but Jackson had an answer for everything and got his leg attacks in.

97 - Kollin Moore (OH) teched Ty Walz (NJSE) 10-0 - Only took a minute for Moore to show why he's one of the top 97 guys in the country.

HWT - Dehsi (OH) over Wood (NJSE) 4-2 - Some good exchanges, but pretty typical Hwt match, all in all.

Ohio RTC won the Dual 4-2

I caught most of this one too.
Results from the Flo page and some short comments of my own.

Spartan Combat RTC defeats Ohio RTC on technical falls, 2-1
57: Vitali Arujau (Spartan Combat RTC) VSU Jack Mueller (Ohio RTC), 11-0 4:25
Vito, too fast and slick for Mueller.

65: Yianni Diakomihalis (Spartan Combat RTC) VSU1 Sammy Sasso (Ohio RTC), 12-2 3:35
Lots of fun scrambles, but Yianni had the answer every time.

74: Carson Kharchla (Ohio RTC) VPO Jevon Balfour (Spartan Combat RTC), 6-0
Kharchla looked really good, once again. Balfour is a Canadian dude, I believe?

86: Sammy Brooks (Ohio RTC) VPO1 Drew Foster (Spartan Combat RTC), 9-8
Brooks was down almost the whole match and came back to win this one. Brooks just kept grinding and wore down Foster. Fun one to watch.

97: Kollin Moore (Ohio RTC) VSU Jacob Cardenas (Spartan Combat RTC), 10-0 0:25
Yep, another super-fast tech

125: Dom Bradley (Spartan Combat RTC) VPO1 Amar Dhesi (Ohio RTC), 5-2
Dom was down late in the match and hit a slick takedown in the last minute or so to go up 3-2 and went up 5-2 with a reattack off Dhesi desperation shot.

(Criteria to decide which team won the dual)
Matches tied 3-3

Most falls tied 0-0

Most tech falls 2-1 Spartan Combat RTC

Only caught the first 2 matches on this one.

Spartan Combat RTC defeats SERTC/NJRTC on matches 4-2
57: Vitali Arujau (Spartan Combat RTC) VPO1 Nahshon Garrett (NJRTC/SERTC), 14-9
Super fun to watch, but Vito was too fast and slick for Garrett

65: Yianni Diakomihalis (Spartan Combat RTC) VPO1 James Green (NJRTC/SERTC), 3-3
This one wasn't as much action as I was hoping, but still good. Green looked good, but Yianni had the last points and fended off Greens attacks at the end with his elite defense.

74: Mekhi Lewis (NJRTC/SERTC) VSU1 Jevon Balfour (Spartan Combat RTC), 12-2 4:43

86: Drew Foster (Spartan Combat RTC) VPO1 Nate Jackson (NJRTC/SERTC), 4-3

97: Ty Walz (NJRTC/SERTC) VPO1 Jacob Cardenas (Spartan Combat RTC), 10-1

125Dom Bradley (Spartan Combat RTC) VPO Jordan Wood (NJRTC/SERTC), 6-0

I didn't get a chance to post anymore this weekend and won't bother to bog this down with every dual, but below are the results from the finals. Garrett over Gross was pretty huge.

There were some really great matches throughout the 2-day event. If you have Flo, it's worth taking a look at a lot of them.

I'll be curious to see who all takes an Olympic redshirt this season, but some of the guys who wrestled in this thing with eligibility looked really good.
Vito looks like he could give Lee a run for his money if he can get out from under Lee.
Trent Hidlay continues to prove he's a beast. Went undefeated for the weekend taking out guys like Drew Foster and Sammy Brooks, etc.
Gable Steveson took out Gwiz and Parris split with Gwiz. Should be fun to see what those two do at HWT this season if they don't take the Olympic redshirt.
As said before, Kharchla looks like a contender already. Super tough.
