Purchase vehicle from Canada

Had a ski-doo snowmobile like that

My wife brought her car down when she moved to the US. It was annoying to drive, but I did get used to it.

Paying the taxes on it was ridiculous, from what she told me. She probably would have been better served selling it in Canada and buying a different car here.

When it came time to get rid of, it was hard to get somebody to take it off our hands. Finally sold it to someone to part out.

I thought that may be the case. I do know the exchange rate works in the US favor right now. Curious again, how much are you looking to potentially save?

My wife bought her wedding ring from a Canadian customer designer. She got a custom wedding ring and wedding band all for $1950 US dollar ($2500) Canadian. She didn't want a diamond, so that saved a lot of the cost. Not sure what the same service would cost in the United States.

OK, so you went to your Ford dealer and they have a Canadian vehicle for sale there?
Correct. Well, not my ford dealer but one I found online so know nothing about which is kinda why I asked. But, they've assured me the warranty and everything else is no different.

Interesting. When we tried trading in my wife's old car, none of the dealers wanted to take it since it was a Canadian car. We eventually got one to take it, but as mentioned before, they parted it out. We didn't get very much for it, but at least we got rid of it.

Definitely something to consider but I plan on keeping this vehicle until it or I croaks. Most likely the latter.

I sold cars until I retired 5 years ago. Whoever told you that the factory warranty on a Canadian car is honored in the United States is incorrect. You do not need to take my word for it, call the manufacturer.

I think it depends on the manufacturer. Were you selling Chrysler?

I believe you, but I question why. My factory builds cars for export to Canada everyday and the only difference in one model is the instrument cluster, which includes the speedometer and the other model has no differences because of digital gauges. There are some models in Canada that cannot be sold in America, but those are pretty rare.

Other exports have different language options, safety features and infotainment options, but Canada is pretty standard.

A savvy dealer could have changed the cluster on your trade for a max couple hundred bucks and about ten minutes of time. Oh well.
