Anyone have an app to track home inventory? Thinking about trying to get a list of all appliances (with model/serial numbers/links to owners manuals, maintenance records, etc.).

Wondering if an App is even worth it or if I just hack one together in Excel.

This sounds much more fancy than my shoebox filing method

I'm just tired of not knowing the models on stuff when I need to order replacement parts (I'm looking at you fridge water filters) - figure it can't hurt to have a digital inventory of stuff - plus an added thing for insurance.

We keep a list for insurance purposes. I have also used it when programming my old Harmony remotes. But we just use a spreadsheet saved to the cloud so it can be accessed if there’s a total loss event.

I think Lowe’s used to have something like this. I never used it…. Not sure it still exists… but I remember being prompted to sign up once when I bought a furnace filter so it could remember my size.

It bragged about logging paint colors, etc also.

I make lists like that on a sheet of paper and then take a picture of the sheet on my phone. Then I just bring up the picture when at the parts counter or ordering a part. I have a picture of 36 passwords on a sheet. I’m old & believe in KISS.

Writing it out and taking a picture of that paper is simple? What happens when you change those passwords?

I was wearing an onion on my belt. Which was the fashion at the time.
