Thanks so much to @WooBadger18 for this idea - especially after just bailing me out last week with the Friday OT!

Here it is: tell us your best Halloween (or other) jokes! As Badger mentioned, in central Iowa you used to have to tell a joke in order to get candy - with COVID and people shooting candy out of cannons and such instead of being able to have face-to-face interaction, we won't get to hear them. What joke would you tell in order to trick-or-treat?

I remember doing tricks like cartwheels and standing on my head. One year (5th grade) my friend and I walked all over our little town to trick or treat. We just had to be back to her house at a certain time. I look back and wonder what our parents were thinking, and then remember it was a different time. Until Pamela Powers was kidnapped and murdered.

Why didn't the toilet paper cross the road?

It got stuck in a crack

The reactions of parents listening to my 6 year old tell this joke is the best part.
Think I'll keep this one until my grandson is a little older. :)

I have so many of these jokes, this is one of the best parts of Halloween (it also builds character).

Some that I remember from being a kid: What's a ghosts favorite fruit? Booberry. Why did the vampire go to the blood bank? To make a withdrawal. Why did the coach go to the bank? To get his quarterback.

My favorite is "What's a pirate's favorite letter?" It has three answers: (1) rrrrrrrrrrrr, (2) (if they say r) You'd think so but it's actually the seaaaaaaaaa, and (3) Ayeeeeeeeee

Also, I love the jokes from very small children who made the jokes themselves and so they don't make sense (e.g. Why did the chicken cross the road? Purple) They are just so proud of themselves and it is so cute
