ESPN's Way-to-Early Top 25 in WBB for 24-25 lists the Cyclones at #10. What do you think?

Just as a data point supporting my argument, I created a spreadsheet that takes the current Massey WBB computer rankings and compares them to the rankings on February 19th (the only one available in archive.org this year) to impute what their ranking in games since that date would have been...

ESPN's Way-to-Early Top 25 in WBB for 24-25 lists the Cyclones at #10. What do you think?

Baylor ended the year AP #13, and we beat them both times we played (home and neutral). KSU ended the year AP #19, and we beat them both of the times we played (home and away). I don't think the season as a whole for Iowa State is the resume of top-ten team, but I think that at their best --...

Between the "play-ins" and the 1st two real rounds, there are -- by my count -- 112 potential matchups before even getting to Sweet 16 games. If you make 112 potential matchups, even done completely randomly, you're almost certainly going to inadvertently make some that have strong connections...

    Illinois matchup

In Bart Torvik, one of Illinois' top comps for Offensive Efficiency/Defensive Efficiency/Tempo is the 2016 Iowa State team.

***NCAA First Round: (7) Iowa State vs. (10) Maryland [Fri., 6:30 CT]***

I've seen lines at -12.5 and -13.5 for Stanford over Iowa State. Given it's a Stanford home game, that seems about right to me. That said, Massey's ratings would set the line at -9, with Iowa State having a 24 percent chance of the upset.

Fun while it lasted for Holy Cross -- Iowa up by 18 at half.

Holy Cross within two at the end of the first quarter, 23-21. Clark's looked legitimately angry both times she's been taken out of the game. Up to five turnovers for Clark and only one made shot (a nice driving and-1).

I'm sure Iowa will run away with this eventually, but Holy Cross looking good early -- nice aggressive defense. Four turnovers for Clark in five minutes.

Longwood may very well outscore Wisconsin in their respective first halves.

Valiant effort by Rice against LSU -- only 6 down with 2 minutes to go. LSU has looked extraordinarily sloppy.

I took that as a challenge and found you actually could meet the seeding criteria by going 1-5-9-16, 2-8-10-15, 3-7-11-14, and 4-6-12-13 -- all the regions are within 4 total seeds difference. But yeah, that'd never happen in real life, despite meeting the letter of the law.

Of the four women's bracketologists I follow, two have ISU on the 7 line, and two have us on the 8 line. My own semi-informed analysis puts us borderline 6/7 -- more nice wins than most of the similarly slotted teams, but also more questionable losses.
