If Skubal won’t be in Detroit next year (he won’t), the haul for a rental, even a top tier one, isn’t what it used to be. Definitely wouldn’t say the Cubs have “no chance”.

The Odyssey trailer 2 (full trailer)

Saw the movie yesterday and really enjoyed it. But I’m also the type to self-reflect and to see the parallels within modern society (of which there are a ton). I can see why certain segments of the population don’t like it. I can also see why some people thought it was long and a bit boring if...

Many of us said Kyle Tucker wasn’t worth $30m per year…and he got $60m. Yikes.

That’s a steal game. Had no business winning because the offense was garbage. Defense and pitching won that game.

The stat they showed was crazy. In 2024-2025 it took PCA 1,050 plate appearances to draw 50 walks. This year, it took him 420.

Good news is the once you get to the postseason, it’s a crapshoot unless you have a $600 mil roster like the Dodgers. Get there and see if you can make some noise. Cubs have the talent to do so.

lol, nailed it. Giving up in the 7th and have a dude throw legit 35 mph softballs is really stupid.

42 pitches to get 2 outs. Woof. Loved the plate discipline by the Cubs in the first.

Ouch. Penn State 2027 Recruiting Decline?

Going from “not going to take many players” to “I was forced to take all of them because they didn’t hire the guy I wanted” is a WILD take.

    Pollard announces his retirement

Solid reporting…”I’m not saying he’s leaving but he might” is top notch journalism. And media folks wonder why people won’t pay for crap like that.

    Pollard announces his retirement

Even with his quirks, he’s an ISU legend. Think about where ISU was 22 years ago and the things Pollard had to navigate. With rumors that Cook is very hands on with athletics, wonder if this rubbed Jamie the wrong way as I think everyone figured he’d stay to see the construction of CyTown. A...

Williams & Blum: What we learned from Big 12 Media Days, Yormark’s rough stretch, and more

Loved the sponsorship/patch discussion. Disagree with Chris that the Big 12 needs a few big brands to establish themselves. Maybe for the perception of the league but, as an Iowa State fan, I want competitiveness and parity over recognition/perception. I don’t want to be Purdue in the Big 10...

Bullpen has been junky but give Webb credit for stepping into the closer role with all of the injuries. He’s been serviceable to good.

Agree with you on Happ except I’d add he’s a gold glove fielder and is a switch hitter - there is value in both. Good clubhouse guy too. I’d say $15m seems about right.

Very casual soccer watcher so let me ask a dumb question…why do teams give up possession after HT or to start a game by just kicking it down to the other team?

Finished The Bear. Wow, loved the last season, especially the last two episodes. That’s how you close out a series.
