Hodge was nasty tonight. Might be the most entertaining back to back regular season games I’ve seen.

Had 2-3 epic once per year crazy games in the first 25 this year. Fun team to watch.

Not sure I recall an offense this hot. Maybe 15-18 but that feels so long ago after the last few years.

Williams & Blum: Two big recruiting wins for Iowa State, sensitive Matt Rhule

If the Big 10 wants to talk **** about Iowa State and the Big 12, have at it. If Nebraska wants to talk **** about Iowa State and the Big 12, lol. Is there more entitled fan base that’s produced fewer results over the past quarter century than Nebraska??

Odd schedule that we’ve played 3 series with the Dodgers, 2 series with the Padres, and two series against Arizona while playing zero games against the NL Central…

God for JT. I imagine he’ll have a lot of Cyclones rooting for him.

Big play by Nico and Wicks gets out of a tough jam. Let’s see if the bats can win another one.

Need to build a nice lead while the offense is hot. Averaging almost 0.5 runs per game more than anyone else in baseball. The schedule in May is paper soft compared to April so it’s possible the division can be won with a strong May.

    Survivor 48

Agree. And a bit odd since there isn’t backstab after backstab and blindside after blindside. A lot of likeable players holding together which is nice to see after dozens of seasons where everyone thinks they have to make big moves each tribal. If they stick together, the final 5-6 will be...

Being 12-8 with 11 games against the Padres and Dodgers is a pretty damn awesome start to the year.

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

I don’t think you can look at it so narrowly like “only 10% of students go to basketball games”. Iowa State athletics, and investing in them, brings overall more students and revenue to Iowa State. When Iowa State does well athletically, enrollment increases. So people that don’t care about...

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

The idea that the university cannot spend any money on athletics and that the AD must be 100% self sufficient is beyond stupid. It’s the university’s best marketing campaign and publicity driver and yet it cannot invest in athletics to grow. But am for some reason it can spend whatever it wants...

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

Go to Ames on a football weekend (hotels are often full) or basketball game (hard to find a restaurant to eat at prior to the game because they are so busy and bars are busier) and you’ll see the financial impact is real. Take football and basketball out of Ames and it’s another dying rural...

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

Kind of. Schools weren’t allowed to pay the players by funneling AD money to collectives, so the fans had to 100% pay the players. But that will not be the case after the House settlement. Collectives can fundraise for the AD but seems “easier” to hit the max revenue share by cutting AD...

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

I don’t buy this at all (except for the fans being maxed out). Businesses have to cut costs all of the time based on changing environments. It’s not fair to blame fans for not maxing out when the AD takes in $115 million per year and claims it’s poor. There is a path towards maxing out -...

Williams & Blum: Recapping a crazy 10 days

By all accounts, we have ~$115 million total revenue. Carving out $20 million (which might be $15 million if WeWill can still kick in $5 million) should be doable sooner rather than later, right? While no business likes cutting costs by 15%, seems like a must-do, even if those cuts are painful...

Adam Schefter on Brock Purdy's contract status (and a Tyrese Haliburton mention)

They can but they won’t. No team has done that to a QB in 9 years. Don’t want to take me up on my WeWill bet that Brock signs a long term extension (or holds out) this year? :)

    Jerry Palm leaving CBS

I’ll never forget his awful bowl projections. One year he had K-State being the first Big 12 team selected by the Alamo Bowl. They were the last team chosen in the conference. It takes talent to be that bad.
