I find it somewhat odd that Principal wants the buildings full of employees but then shifts thousands of jobs overseas in the past couple of years.

Sounds like some job cuts for some people in the printing facility at principal. Outsourcing seems to be the trend at PFG.

Don't they normally only show those at the end? What I don't like is that only a small percentage at the company are impacted by RTO, so of course a large percentage are happy with their WFH arrangements.

My recommendation is that as soon as your company says they are going public, find a different job. The day your company goes public, things will only get worse. I can only think of one thing that is better since the company has went public and that's the day care. I'm guessing the day care also...

I worked with some people who worked 2 days in the office pre-covid and are now 3 days. There are some areas of the company requiring 5 days a week. If you are 31 miles away though, you are golden.

Oddly enough, Principal doesn't seem to be worried about collaboration of the 1000+ people they've recently hired in Manila to staff their call centers. Weird how that works.

They just took a poll at Principal, where 5,000+ voted on 9 questions. Some of those 5000 have to come into the office, some don't. Most of the same questions were asked in April and the results are stunningly bad this time around. I can't get into the details but embarrassingly bad. On a side...

Maybe they'll move to the Principal model of just getting rid of the employee opinion survey.

Well sexual harassment is the last thing I worry about at Principal IT. Most of our staff get anxiety from running into a co-worker in the skywalk. Eye contact is considered 3rd base to most of these butterfly's.

It kind of reminds me of the place in Des Moines that always portrayed itself as fun place to work. "We have a free keg on Friday night" "We order in free pizza". Listen *****, I have no urge to be working at 7pm on a Friday night for free Michelob Ultra. I think this may have been Business...

Correct. I'm not going to lie to not have to come back in the office. From what I've seen, VERY few are getting exceptions. To get an exception, it has to be approved by senior management.

Blah blah blah....All I know if that in a month from now, my ass will have to be back in the office 3 days a week.

Today was the first day that Principal's CEO took questions from employees. Said the decision had zero to do with real estate. Two IT nerds ,who looked to be about 2 seconds away from shitting themselves, complained about how they were hired as remote and it wasn't fair that they were being...

Every one has had the ability to go in whenever they want. The problem was the people did it, didn't prefer it, and returned to WFH.

    Principal Financial-Remote work

There are multiple things in play here. A lot of these people were hired as "Remote only". No where did it say "Remote only if you live 30.1 miles from 711 High st." For multiple years, Principal preached how open they were to WFH. For example, they made a huge shift in hiring IT staff from...
