NFL GMs probably watched tape of Dejean trying to cover Hutchinson on that 99-yard drive and decided to pass.

Joshua Jefferson has committed to Iowa State

Nobody is saying our defense isn't going to be elite. But we were the most efficient defense in the country last season, and losing all three post players in the same year does bring an unknown element. We know we'll be a good defensive team, but it's reasonable to question whether we will be...

Joshua Jefferson has committed to Iowa State

He was not a below average offensive player unless you're holding him to a standard outside of his role as a 5 man. He was one of our most efficient offensive players.

Joshua Jefferson has committed to Iowa State

He was 117/197 (59.2%) from the field. Many of those were from solid post moves, good footwork, and baby hooks over post defenders. Rob was an asset on the offensive end and often times was physically impressive in doing so. Much fewer instances of falling over in the lane than previous seasons.

Joshua Jefferson has committed to Iowa State

I do think a lot of the fanbase is underestimating the adjustment period of not having those three guys with multiple years in the defense. I'm not convinced Jackson, even with more pure talent, will be better than Rob Jones. Jones was an efficient offensive player and a good defender. Hopefully...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

I have no clue what you're talking about. She regularly pinned girls under the basket. Did you watch the Maryland game? Also, lol at "that worked fine in HS but no so much in major CBB" after she just put up 19 ppg as a freshman, was named 1st team All Big 12, and will be a preseason AA next...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

Then what is "her all conference accolades were based on numbers" trying to say? It was obvious her accolades were based on numbers and impact.

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

Joens needs to work on ball handling. She has a willingness to drive into the lane, but she struggles to handle the ball in traffic and get to a finishing move, mostly relying on the hope to get fouled. Defensively, foot speed should be a focus, but she also makes so many plays with her hustle...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

You think her numbers were empty? She was all conference because she was one of the most dominant posts in the country and the Big 12 in conference play. They weren't empty points. She was the primary force in that team far exceeding expectations. Just a horrible take.

Not only that, but good teams play their starters 30-35 minutes. They are D1 athletes, they can handle it.

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

She's already down the path. She is very athletic for her size and obviously strong. A basic D1 strength and conditioning program is going to be enough. She should be dropping pounds naturally but not at the expense of strength.

I don't know, that chemistry looked good in March. Brown definitely had more chemistry with Crooks in Jan/Feb, but Ryan was incredible down the stretch.

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

They had strong ball handlers. When you have Jackson turning her back to the defender on the perimeter, Joens not a good enough ball handler to drive in traffic, and Belanger only developing her drive in March, you're unable to run a motion offense. We had trouble even passing it to the wing...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

I disagree. You beat ball pressure with blow-bys. Teams don't respect our guards on the perimeter, so they're free to pressure our guards and wings with no penalty for being too aggressive. You need strong ball handlers to run a good motion offense. Ball handling isn't just dribbling, it's the...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

I think this is overstated. She was getting the ball wherever she wanted by the end of the season, even against elite posts. Against poor posts, she was scoring at will.

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

The best solution to Ryan's overdribbling is having someone else who can actually handle the ball and make teams pay for pressuring. Jackson was not good enough as a PG to trust her for more than a few possessions, especially when defenses pressed in the second half. Hopefully we've added enough...

    2024-25 Roster/Rotation Additions

She has already improved in that skill. There were games last season where it was laughably easy to throw it in to her for a layup because she had already pinned her girl underneath the basket. She needs to find a few counters when she's going over her left shoulder to on the right block...

    New Uniforms Revealed

Those Broncos jerseys are cookie cutter crap. They're getting absolutely roasted right now for those jerseys when they had one of the best unis in the league prior to their last iteration. You couldn't even see the edges on our jerseys. I don't think the new shoulder stripes are perfect, but...

    ***Official 2024 Transfer Thread***

We upgraded skill level last year with Gilbert and Jones as transfers. Ball handling and passing are underrated skills and gives your offense more versatility and spacing. I think we're following the same path with the posts this season. We're adding ball handling, playmaking, and shooting at...
