    Let’s talk Jackrabbits

I'd recommend rotating subs in early, one at a time, (as if there was a starter in foul problems) to give the bench a few more minutes working with the starters in a live game situation and get past the initial "I'm in a NCAA Tournament game!" shock over with.

Postgame presser: Bill Fennelly, Addy Brown & Audi Crooks on Big 12 quarterfinals win

I suppose I'm wrong but I look at the jersey hanging rules the same way the British monarchy looks at Royal Tradition rules. Royal Tradition forbids a royal from marrying a divorced person? Change the rule. Royal Tradition forbids the Queen from standing on the the same ground as her subjects to...

    Old 30

That looks pretty close to what it was like when I attended. Looks like 1957 or a year or two later; I arrived on campus in 1962. Speaking of speed limits, it wasn't too many years before this film was made that the speed limit on Iowa highways was "Reasonable and Proper" if not posted...

*** Official #8 IOWA STATE vs UCF Game(Day) Thread ***

I hope we don't get a large lead relatively early, then begin resting the starters and watch the lead shrink enough to make it be, or even look like, a close game. I'm all for resting the starters but, since this is the first time we've played them, we should get it in their heads that they...

So how good is the Big 12 in Basketball this year?

I've noticed announcers, that don't cover the B12 regularly, mention how "physical" the B12 is and that the B12 is "letting them play". I worry that the NCAA might tell the refs to "not let the game get out of hand" or "turn into a rock fight" causing a lot of ticky-tacky foul calls early in...

What would cause TJ to move?

I don't think so. Part of the reason Johnny came to us was that Michigan's juggernaut football team so over-shadowed basketball, that he had to get out of football's shadow.

    ISU @ Houston/Big Monday

I think if we down a couple of threes early, our chances become very good. If we miss those threes, Houston packs the lane and it could become a problem. Play loose and have fun will do it!

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

If you like the college game you should stop by Ames, Iowa and pick up an Iowa State game. Spend three to four hours tailgating before kickoff wearing 49er's colors or a Purdy jersey, and you will have more food and friends than you can handle.

STORY: Free throws, clutch play lift Iowa State to second win over AP top 10 team

I love my Twister Sisters and I'm sure it wouldn't take long for one of you younger folk to change a few words in this song (Texas Twister by Little Feat) to Twister Sisters:

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Do people think that a quarterback is only a Game Manager or a Playmaker? I think they have to be a combination of both. It is hard for a NFL quarterback to be better than average at both skills and it's rare for someone to be great at both but I think that's what we are looking at here...

    STUDENT CHANT

    1. I grew up thinking that college students were the more intelligent and creative portion of the population. The use of simple vulgarities does not impress me. I expect that from a high school dropout but not a Cyclone. 2. Using primarily simple vulgar language is easy for the opponent to...

RECRUITING: Iowa State earns commitment from Army WR transfer

I can agree with this. I have a nephew who was offered a chance to go to West Point to wrestle. He declined and went to Iowa State like his dad and two uncles. The fact his dad was in the Navy probably had very little impact on his decision.

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

I think the MVP guidelines handed out to the voters start with: Most Valuable Player Voting Guidelines 1. A MVP candidate must beat Brock Purdy. Since Brock doesn't beat himself; he is disqualified.
