    I actually liked it as a sly visual reference. Villeneuve drops a ton of these references into his films. It rewards a close watch and the film nerds out there. The general audience isn't going to get it but it's not going to detract from their experience. But for fans of Blade Runner...

    You could argue about the exact order. But holy goodness that top-seven is a murderers' row. I don't know how many other directors (Kubrick? Spielberg? Hitchcock? Scorsese?) could match it.

    I appreciate Nolan swings big even if it doesn't always connect. The Dark Knight Rises and Tenet just aren't very good even if I appreciate the ambition. And I know he didn't direct them, but the Snyder DC superhero films he produced weren't very good either. I would see the Eggers films again...
