Maybe you should look at the results. His losses to Botello (UNC backup) and Willochell (Wyoming, 0-2 at NCAAs; pinned) were both at 133. He was majored in his two losses at 141, to Nebraska's backup and a guy from SDSU who went 0-2 at NCAAs. It isn't that he doesn't have promise or things... -

Wrestle offs can often be deceptive due to familiarity. Grice did what Grice did while Pearson went out and got smoked by a couple guys who went 0-2 at the NCAAs, and Nebraska’s backup. -

He's a lot different than Yonger coming in. Yonger was a two time world medalist, and in his 2nd year in folkstyle/D1 wrestling he was an all-American. Rin has no world medals and in his 2nd year in folkstyle/D1 wrestling he was getting handled by mid-major D1 backups. And that was with practice... -

It was familiarity for sure. Naak never took him down and didn’t have Arnold’s level of success nationally. Still surprised Naak has struggled so much in college. Hopefully that’s mostly attributable to injuries and his best days are ahead.
